MPEI has been training engineering and scientific personnel for foreign countries since 1946. Now more than 15000 undergr
aduate and 500 postgraduate students are trained at MPEI. Among them there are 1700 foreign students and trainees from more than 65 countries. On the territory of MPEI 550 educational laboratories for students and more than 100 research laboratories are located. MPEI consists of 70 Departments with their own special scientific and research purposes. The area of modern power engineering includes actual power engineering (hydropower, wind power, thermal, nuclear, solar and space power, etc.), electrical equipment, materials sciences, electronics, classical and applied physics, radio engineering and communication, computer systems, management and economics in power engineering. All these spheres and other directions of the special training are available in MPEI for foreign undergraduate and graduate students.
