Application for Admission to Higher Education Institutions (Public and Private)
For the 2026/2027 Academic Year

The General Administration for Admission, Evaluation, and Credential Authentication announces the opening of applications for admission to higher education and scientific research institutions (public and private) for the 2026/2027 academic year, in accordance with the following arrangements and guidelines:
First: Application Period: Applications open on Thursday, September 17, 2026, and continue until Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Second: Eligible Applicants: Applications at this stage are limited to Sudanese students holding the Sudanese Secondary School Certificate, or equivalent Arab or foreign certificates, for the year 2026.
Third: Online Application Guidelines and Procedures
Applications must be submitted via the Administration’s website: admission.gov.sd
Admission requirements, the guide to available opportunities, and approved electronic payment methods can be viewed on the aforementioned website.
Application fees are 20,000 Sudanese Pounds for Sudanese applicants within Sudan, and 200 US Dollars for Sudanese applicants residing abroad.
Fourth: Holders of Arab and Foreign Certificates:
Students holding Arab or foreign secondary school certificates who have not yet had their certificates verified/matched must contact the Administration immediately to complete this procedure, in preparation for obtaining the reference number required to apply to higher education institutions. To complete this step, please upload a copy of your high school certificate—certified by the Federal Ministry of Education—via the "Verification" (Mutabaqa) portal on the Department’s website. Additionally, please submit the original certificate, a copy thereof, and proof of identity to the General Department of Admissions (the original document will be returned immediately).

تعلن الإدارة العامة للقبول وتقويم وتوثيق الشهادات، عن فتح باب التقديم للقبول بمؤسسات التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي (الحكومية وغير الحكومية) للعام 2026/2027م، وذلك وفقاً للترتيبات والضوابط الآتية:
أولاً: فترة التقديم: ينطلق التقديم اعتباراً من يوم الخميس 17/9/2026م، ويمتد حتى يوم السبت 26/9/2026م.
ثانياً: الفئات المشمولة بالتقديم: يقتصر التقديم في هذه المرحلة على الطلاب السودانيين الحاصلين على الشهادة الثانوية السودانية، أوما يعادلها من الشهادات العربية والأجنبية للعام (2026م).
ثالثاً: ضوابط وإجراءات التقديم الإلكتروني
يتم التقديم عبر الموقع الإلكتروني للإدارة admission.gov.sd
يمكن الاطلاع على شروط القبول، والدليل الإرشادي للفرص المتاحة، وطرق السداد الإلكتروني المعتمدة عبر الموقع المشار إليه أعلاه.
رسوم التقديم من داخل السودان (20,000 جنيه) عشرون ألف جنيه سوداني للسودانيين وبمبلغ (200 دولار) مائتي دولار أمريكي للسودانيين من خارج البلاد.
رابعاً: حملة الشهادات العربية والأجنبية:
على الطلاب الحاصلين على الشهادة الثانوية (العربية والأجنبية) ممن لم يتمكنوا من مطابقة شهاداتهم، مراجعة الإدارة فوراً لاستكمال الإجراء؛ تمهيداً لحصولهم على الرقم المرجعي المؤهل للتقديم لمؤسسات التعليم العالي.
ولإتمام هذه الخطوة، يُرجى رفع صورة الشهادة الثانوية المُعتمَدة من وزارة التعليم والتربية الوطنية الاتحادية عبر نافذة (مطابقة) بموقع الإدارة، مع تسليم أصل الشهادة وصورتها، إضافة إلى إثبات الهوية، إلى مقر الإدارة العامة للقبول (على أن يرد الأصل في الحال).

RESEARCH COLLABORATION BETWEEN CCST NURSING TEAM AND THE CENTRE FOR NURSING RESEARCH AND INNOVATION OF VITA-SAN RAFFAELE UNIVERSITY (MILAN)

Evidence-based practice (EBP) competencies remain limited in many low-income countries, where access to research training is often constrained by limited educational resources and humanitarian crises. This study has been carried out in collaboration among the nursing team of the College in Port Sudan, the Centre for Nursing Research and Innovation (CENRI), IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute ((Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care) and AISPO . The work evaluated the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of a CREATE-based teaching strategy to improve EBP competencies among nurses and nursing students in Sudan.

RESUMING ACTIVITIES IN KHARTOUM
For the first time since the war started, most members of the Academic Council of the College attended the meeting from our new video-conference hall in the headquarters in Khartoum last Saturday 29th August. This meeting represents a step ahead to gradually resume activities in our campus in Khartoum.
The College headquarters in Khartoum (Qasr Avenue) are already open from 8 am to 4 pm.
Registration of ongoing students for supplementary exams can take place from October 1 (except for nursing students) in:
1- In Khartoum
2- In Port Sudan
3- Online
Note that the College will be gradually resuming on campus activities and diminishing online ones.

2026 Human Rights and Nursing Award for Dr. Halima Ali

Dr. Halima Ibrahim Malik Ali, Program Coordinator of the BSc in Nursing Sciences at Comboni College of Science and Technology (CCST) and Director of the Comboni Palliative Care Nursing Clinic in Port Sudan, received the 2026 Human Rights and Nursing Award on August 28, alongside Prof. Josephine Etowa of the School of Nursing at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Halima was recognized “for her exceptional courage and commitment to providing free palliative care during the Sudan conflict.” The Human Rights and Nursing Award celebrates nurses whose work promotes international respect for human rights, dignity, and compassionate care for vulnerable populations.

The award ceremony was held during the Nursing Ethics and International Ethics in Care Conference, organized by the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Regina, Canada, in collaboration with the international Editorial Board of the journal Nursing Ethics. Due to the complex procedures and difficulties involved in travelling to Canada, Dr. Halima attended the ceremony online and received the award remotely.

The award recognizes her remarkable commitment to providing compassionate, free-of-charge palliative care to patients suffering from terminal and chronic illnesses in Wad Madani, Sennar, and Port Sudan, despite the extreme dangers, displacement, and disruption caused by the outbreak of war in Sudan in April 2023.

Her dedication to caring for patients in some of the most difficult circumstances of the conflict represents an outstanding example of the nursing profession's commitment to human dignity, human rights, and the right to compassionate care, even in times of war and crisis.

THE NEW ITALIAN AMBASSADOR VISITS CCST

The new ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Sudan (Italy in Sudan), H.E. Silvio Mignano, visited the premises of CCST in Port Sudan last Sunday 23 August before travelling to Khartoum to present his credential letters to the President of the Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fatah al Burhan.

During his visit to CCST in Port Sudan, the ambassador was welcomed by the College Principal and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Fr. Jorge Naranjo, who updated him about the ongoing projects with Italian institutions such as AISPO, Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo - Ufficio di Addis Abeba, the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, the Community of Sant’Egidio, the Center for Nursing Research and Innovation (CeNRI), the Dante Alighieri Institute and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussion also dealt with the project to have the College as official translation centre for Italian language and the possibility of organizing online exams for the international certificates such as CELI and PLIDA.

Nursing the empire, building the state: female health professionals and politics in 1950s Ethiopia and Sudan

We congratulate our dear lecturer of Sociology at the BSc in Nursing Sciences, Mariam Mahjoub Mohamed Sharif, for the pubblication of the above mentioned article (Bruzzi, S., & Sharif, M. (2026). Nursing the empire, building the state: female health professionals and politics in 1950s Ethiopia and Sudan. Women’s History Review, 1–23. https://doi.org/10.1080/09612025.2026.2713243).

She holds an MSc in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Khartoum University, having received a scholarship from the Christian Michelsen Institute in Bergen. She is a PhD student at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), specialising in gender and sexuality studies. From 2022 to 2025, she held a contract as a doctoral researcher with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). She is also affiliated with the African Worlds Institute (IMAF) and the Centre Maurice Halbwachs. Her current research focuses on nursing and midwifery education, work, and political participation in Sudan from the 1920s to the 1980s. She is also a fellow of the Social Science in Humanitarian Action Platform (SSHAP) and a member of the Reproductive Health Working Group (RHWG) in the Middle East region. Her main research interests lie in the areas of social anthropologist and historical anthropologist on health and medicine, with focus on social knowledge and practices of health and medicine, health as professions, health governance, and the history of medicine, epidemics and endemic diseases.
