Magdalena, currently studying the Master’s Programme in Resource Recovery - Polymer Materials for the Circular Economy, previously studied material science and metallurgy in Poland. Her interest in polymer, sustainability, and resource recovery came from the urge to contribute to make the environment more greener. Today I share her story why she made a transition from metallurgy to polymers. ⭐️

Valborg is a rooted Swedish culture that is celebrated on 30 April to welcome spring. In different cultures spring is welcomed in many styles. This year I was able to take part in the Swedish way of welcoming spring. I enjoyed and witnessed their gesture of celebration! 🌸

On 30 April, Sweden celebrates Valborg (Walpurgis Night) — basically the official welcome party for spring 🌼🌸 In Borås, the celebration takes place at Stadsparken.

Think picnic blankets, friends, small speakers playing in the background, a spring choir, a parade through the city… and the night ending with a huge bonfire by the river + a DJ set.

And beyond taking a study break for Valborg, I’ve been trying to appreciate the little things too — sitting in the sun with friends, noticing the flowers blooming, and going for long walks by the lakes.

What are you most looking forward to this spring in Borås? 🌿
