Välkommen till en träff för hela marina institutionen!
Nästa vecka, den 10e december mellan klockan 16-18 i Stenbrottet (2403), bjuder vi i SG Marin tillsammans med studievägledningen och andra aktörer in till mingelkväll med glögg, fika och mer!

Welcome to a gathering for the entire marine department!

🦭Studentrepresentant🦭
Jakob Gradén

Jakob går marina vetenskaper år 2 och är utöver sin post som ledamot, öven studentrepresentant i programrådet, kommunikationsgruppen och i SAMO. Han beskriver att han gick med i SG marin då han suger på att läsa och svara på mejl, meddelanden och annan info som han borde ta del av från skolan och alla föreningar. Så SG marin är ett sätt för honom att få veta allt som han borde veta, och detta genom att bara gå på ett möte då och då. Dessutom är det bara sköna individer med som man då kan hänga med. Hans roliga fakta är att sjöpungen som barn har en hjärna. Men att den sen tillbakutvecklas när den växer upp. ’Really makes you think huh…’

🦀SAMO är Studentkommunikationsgruppen

Jakob is in his second year of marine sciences and, in addition to his position as a member, is also a student representative on the programme council, the communications group and in SAMO. He explains that he joined SG Marin because he is terrible at reading and responding to emails, messages and other information he should be receiving from the school and all the associations. So SG Marin is a way for him to find out everything he needs to know, simply by attending a meeting now and then. What’s more, it’s full of great people to hang out with. His fun fact is that sea squirts have brains as children. But then they regress as they grow up. ’Really makes you think, huh…’

🐢STREP🐢
Lovisa Bjärnlid

Lovisa läser andra året i marina vetenskaper och är STREP på instutionsrådet vilket innebär att hon sutter med som studentrepresentant på insutwionsrådets möten och för studenternas talan. Lovia gick med i SG Marin för att få vara med och styra sin studietid. Hennes roliga fakta är att vår (ryggradsdjurens) närmsta släkting är sjöpungar. Och att vi alltså är närmare besläktade med dessa geléaktiga djur som bryter ned sin hjärna när de går in i sitt vuxna stadium. Varför? Jo, för att den helt enkelt inte behövs!

Lovisa is in her second year of marine sciences and is a STREP on the department council, which means she attends department council meetings as a student representative and speaks on behalf of the students. Lovia joined SG Marin to help shape her studies. Her fun fact is that our (vertebrates’) closest relatives are sea squirts. This means that we are more closely related to these jelly-like animals, which break down their brains when they reach adulthood. Why? Simply because they are no longer needed!

Frida Molin

Frida går andra året i marina vetenskap-kandidaten och är utöver sin roll som pålitlig ledamot i SG marin även studentrepresentant i programrådet. Hon gick med i SG marin för att kunna påverka sin och hennes klasskompisars studier, samt för gratis fika ;). En rolig fakta hon kan är att vi uppskattningsvis endast har identifierat 10% av alla marina arter!

Frida is doing the second year of the marine science bachelor’s program and, in addition to her role as a reliable board member of SG Marin, she is also a student representative on the Program council. She joined the SG to be able to influence her and her classmates’ studies, as well as for free fika ;). A fun fact she knows is that we have only identified an estimated 10% of all marine species!

Ella Welander

Ella läser tredje året på sin kandidat i marina vetenskaper, med inriktning kemi, och är bland andra ansvarig för våra sociala medier, kommunikation och kontakt. Hon gick spontant med då det kändes som ett tillräckligt chill sätt att engagera sig och få träffa andra marinare och sitter nu ett år till! Hennes roliga marinrelaterade fakta är att om du är tillräckligt snabb kan du fånga vilken fisk som helst, och om du dessutom är tillräckligt stark kan du hålla fast den. Men att du bara kan bli fiskens vän om du har ett tillräckligt gott hjärta.

Ella Welander is in her third year of a bachelor’s degree in marine sciences, specializing in chemistry, and is among others responsible for our social media and external communications. She joined spontaneously because it felt like a sufficiently chill way to get involved and meet other marine science students, and is now staying for another year! Her favorite marine-related fact is that if you are quick enough, you can catch any fish, and if you are also strong enough, you can hold on to it. But that you can only become friends with the fish if you have a good enough heart.

TOMORROW!!
SG Marin welcomes you to lillördag at Skeppet.
From 18.00

We wanted to have an evening for all students of the marine faculty to meet. Where swedish, international, bachelor- and master students can connect in a relaxed setting. ”Lillördag” (literally ”Little Saturday”) is the tradition of taking a small break in the middle of the week, a chance to enjoy some weekend vibes on a Wednesday to recharge for the days ahead. Skeppet is a bar located at Stigbergstorget. Join us, grab your beverage of choice and meet other marine students.

The event is especially aimed at marine students, but people from other faculties are also welcome to join!

Kristoffer Funk

Kristoffer går tredje året i kandidaten marina vetenskaper med en inriktning i kemi och är SG marins pålitliga kassör. Han gick med i gruppen när han hörde om våra pengaproblem, för hans facecard never declines. Hans roliga marin-relaterade fakta som han gärna delar är att ”den virala stingrockan Charlotte som sas va gravid av en haj för 1 år sen har dött o det visa sig att hon inte ens va gravid hon va ba bloated af rip stackarn”.

Kristoffer Funk is in his third year of the bachelor’s degree in marine sciences with a focus on chemistry and is SG Marine’s reliable accountant. He joined the group when he heard about our money problems, because his facecard never declines. One of his amusing marine-related facts that he likes to share is that the viral stingray Charlotte, who was said to be pregnant by a shark a year ago, has died, and it turns out she wasn’t even pregnant, she was just bloated af, rip poor thing.

Kit Nilsson

Kit läser sista året i kandidaten och har riktat in sig på marinbiologi. Hen är en av våra kreativa själar som ansvarar för PR och har designat vår logga! Kit är även studentrepresentant i IR där hen representerar studenterna i frågor som rör hela Marina institutionen :]. Hen gick med i SG marin för att bidra till att göra studietiden så kul och givande som möjligt för alla som läser marint! Kits roliga fakta är att kubmaneter har förvånansvärt komplexa ögon, med näthinna, hornhinna och lins - precis som våra!

Kit is doing their final year of their bachelor’s degree and is focusing on marine biology. They are one of our creative souls responsible for PR and is also the designer of our logo! Kit also sits as a student representative in IR, where they represent students in matters concerning the entire Marine Department :]. They joined SG Marin to help make studying as fun and rewarding as possible for everyone studying marine science! Kit’s fun fact is that box jellyfish have surprisingly complex eyes, with a retina, cornea and lens – just like ours!

🐡Sittandes i GRUB🐡
Tilda Fischer

Tilda läser nu andra året i marina vetenskaper och är studentrepresentant för GRUB, Grundberedskapsutbildningen. Tilda är alltså med och utvecklar, samt förbättrar, grundutbildningen. Hon är medlem i SG marin för att kunna förändra och förbättra utbildningen och för att ge oss studenter en röst. Hon tycker också att det är kul med gemenskapen och att träffa andra marina studenter från olika år och klasser! (Även fikat såklart!) Tildas roliga fakta är att man inte riktigt vet vad funktion hos narvalens horn(som egentligen är en tand) är! Man tror dock att det kan vara till för jakt eller för när hanar slåss om honor.

Tilda Fischer is in her second year of his bachelor’s in marine sciences and is a student representative in GRUB, Grundberedskapsutbildningen. Tilda is involved in developing and improving the basic education. She is a member of SG Marin in order to change and improve the program and to give us students a voice. She also enjoys the community and meeting other marine students from different years and classes (and the fika of course)! Tilda’s fun fact is that no one really knows what the narwhal’s horn (which is actually a tooth) is for! However, it is believed that it may be used for hunting or when males fight over females.

🐚Sittandes i GRUB🐚
Martina Marklund

Martina läser andra året i kandidaten: marina vetenskaper och är sittandes i GRUB.Hon gick med eftersom att hon kände att det hade varit roligt att tillhöra en studentgrupp :)
Hon tycker det är roligt hur ”killer whales”, späckhuggare, har fått det namnet men ingen dokumentation av någon dödlig attack mot människor finns (iallafall med vilda späckhuggare).

🦀(GRUB står för Grundutbildningsberedningen och Martina förklarar att det ger studenterna möjligheten att påverka och förbättra undervisningen för hela grundutbildningen.)

Martina Marklund is in her second year of a bachelor’s degree in marine sciences and is a member of GRUB. She joined because she thought it would be fun to belong to a student group :)
She finds it fun that killer whales have been given that name, even though there is no documentation of any fatal attacks on humans (at least by wild killer whales).

(GRUB stands for Basic Education Committee and Martina explains that it gives students the possibility to influence and improve their education.)

Cecilia Spångberg

Cecilia läser tredje och sista året på sin kandidat i marina vetenskaper, inriktning geologi, och är vår trygga sekreterare. Hon gick med i SG marin för att Emelie tvingade henne och tycker det är roligt att Sverige har optimala förutsättningar för bryggor!

🐠Vice ordförande🐠
Ruben Lundgren

Ruben går tredje året i kandidaten inom marinbiologi och är vår näst starkast lysande ledstjärna, vår största stöttepelare, alltså SG marins vice ordförande. Utöver det är han även SAMO, alltså studiearbetsmiljööombud. Vad det innebär är en bra fråga, han har inte gått utbildningen än, men om man är missnöjd med arbetsmiljön på natrium eller Tjärnö på något sätt kan man väl snacka med honom. Han gick med i SG marin då han fick mkt bra tips från äldre elever när han gick i ettan (här förklarar han inte varför han är kvar nu, när han går i trean). Rubens roliga fakta är att pärlfiskar gömmer sig i röven på sjögurkor.

Ruben Lundgren is in his third year of a bachelor’s degree in marine biology and is our second brightest guiding star, our biggest support pillar, that is SG marin’s vice-chair. In addition to that he is also SAMO, that is our study environment representative. What that means he is not too sure of, since he has not yet completed the course, but if you are dissatisfied with the work environment at either Natrium or Tjärnö in any sense, you can speak with him. He joined SG marin since he received a lot of great tips from the older students when he started his first year (here he does not really explain why he still remains in the group, even though he is in his third year and supposedly an ”older student”). Rubens fun fact is that pearlfish hides in the rear ends of sea cucumbers.
