Entrepreneurship in action at JIBS 🚀

Last week, students, entrepreneurs, representatives from Science Park, and members of the business community gathered at JIBS for this year's Entrepreneurship Day.

As part of their coursework, second-year students in Marketing Management, International Economics, and Civilekonom-NEK presented ventures and innovations they have developed from scratch. The event showcased creativity, entrepreneurial thinking, and a strong drive to turn ideas into reality.

From practical products and digital platforms to solutions designed to make everyday life easier, the projects highlighted the impressive range of ideas emerging from our classrooms.

25 Years of Dedication – Barbara bids farewell to JIBS

Yesterday, many colleagues gathered to celebrate Barbara Eklöf after 25 years at JIBS. With cake, sparkling w**e, and many fond memories, they marked her long and highly valued contribution to the school.

Her first position at JIBS was as an Administrator for Law and Informatics. It marked the beginning of a journey that would take her through a variety of roles and functions across the school. Over the years, Barbara experienced organizational changes and new initiatives while continuously taking on new challenges herself.

Over the years, she built an extensive network and became a key contributor to several international collaborations. When her role within EMMA came to an end, her contributions were recognized with a special award.

“JIBS has been a fantastic and stimulating place to work. I will miss my colleagues and all the opportunities to meet and work with people, but I am also looking forward to the next chapter in life,” says Barbara.

On 31 August, Barbara will complete her final day at JIBS. After 25 years, she is leaving not only a workplace, but also an important part of JIBS' history. The colleagues who gathered to celebrate her yesderday agreed on one thing: throughout the years, Barbara has made a difference to many people and has helped make JIBS the international and welcoming environment it is today.

Last Wednesday, Campus Arena was filled with energy, ambition, and meaningful conversations as Nextstep Career Fair 2026 brought together students and employers at Jönköping University.

Organized by JIBS Student Association (JSA) since 1994, Nextstep has become a well-established meeting place where students and the business community connect. This year, 42 companies met more than 5,000 visitors, and over 160 students applied for personal contact interviews.

“We want to build a bridge between students and working life. It is so important that they meet relevant companies and get the opportunity to understand the possibilities available to them after graduation,“ says project leader Ella Klintheim.

With a clear ambition to broaden company representation and welcome students from across JU, the fair hosted international and national organizations such as PwC, Uniqlo, IKEA, and Emirates.

Reflecting on her role, Ella shares:

“Nextstep is a fantastic opportunity if you want to engage in a professional committee, work closely with leading companies, and develop more than you think possible. It’s an experience that truly makes a difference.”

Nextstep continues to strengthen the bridge between academia and the global business community - while developing the next generation of leaders.
