Candidate to become a Summer Assistant at the Social Sciences Student Union!

​The Social Sciences Student Union is opening applications for two Summer Assistant positions from July 15 to August 31, 2026 ☀️
🗓️ Applications close on June 8 at 23:59.

Take the opportunity to get involved and help strengthen the Union’s internal structure throughout the summer! 🧩

The mandate period for both positions start on July 15th, and end on the 31st of August 2026. Both positions are time limited remunerated positions, not employment opportunities.

Då är det hög tid att kandidera till förtroendeuppdrag för verksamhetsår 2026/2027!

🏛️ Fullmäktige har beslutat att ge mandat för att fyllnadsvälja vakanta förtroendeposter inom Samhällsvetarkåren till Styrelsen 25/26. Det betyder att nuvarande styrelse kommer att genomföra valet till vakanta poster innan början av nästa verksamhetsår.

⏰ Deadline för kandidatur är torsdag den 28 maj 2026 kl. 23.59

📣 SUMMONS TO THE EXTRAORDINARY SECTION MEETING OF THE STUDENT UNION’s INTERDISCIPLINARY SECTION PLUTO

PLUTO is the Interdisciplinary section of the Social Sciences Student Union. PLUTO’s purpose is to support, represent, and build a community for the increasing number of students studying interdisciplinary social science programs at Lund University.

If you are studying under PLUTO’s educational mandate, and if you are a member of the Social Sciences Student Union, you have a right to vote and to candidate to vacant positions at the Section Meeting!

PLUTO represents all students studying at the Department of Human Geography, the Graduate School, and the International Office.

The following positions are vacant and open for candidacy:

Looking back at the ball, we can’t help but thank our amazing workers!! The final project group profile is Ellen!✨

My name is Ellen, and I’m a final-year student in Development Studies, majoring in Sociology. I’ve been involved in organising the ball for three years now. I started out as a worker, then became Head of Entertainment, and this year I’m Head of Sponsorship.💵

In my role, I work with sponsors and partners to help make the ball possible. An event of this size comes with significant costs, so a big part of what I do is reaching out, securing support, and making sure collaborations work well for everyone involved. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

The best part of being on the committee is honestly seeing everything come together in the end. You spend months planning and then suddenly you’re attending a ball you helped make possible, which feels incredibly rewarding. I also really enjoy how creative the whole process is. There’s always room for bringing new ideas, and you get to work closely with the whole committee. It makes it feel like more than just your own role, and overall just a really fun experience. 🎊

📣 Samhällsvetarkåren vid Lunds universitet välkomnar er till en föreläsning med Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) Hässleholm

När andra ser slutet, letar vi efter början. Vill du vara med? Om vård och behandling på SiS ungdomshem.

Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS, är en myndighet som ansvarar för individuellt anpassad tvångsvård för ungdomar med komplex psykosocial problematik och för vuxna med missbruk. SiS ungdomshem Hässleholm är en låsbar institution med fyra behandlingsavdelningar, två avdelningar för mottagning och behovsbedömning (MBB) samt en öppen TFCO-enhet. Vår målgrupp är skolpliktiga pojkar och flickor, med pågående kriminalitet och i vissa fall missbruk. Vi kommer även under våren öppna en utskrivningsförberedande avdelning i Höör.

Hos oss kan du som student söka tjänster som klientnära personal (behandlingspedagog) psykolog, behandlingssekreterare, familje- och nätverksbehandlare mm. Vi har just nu tjänster ute både för dig som söker extrajobb under studierna, eller tillsvidaretjänster. Söker du efter en praktikplats under dina studier tar vi även emot praktikanter.

Vi vill berätta mer om vår verksamhet och möjligheterna för dig som student hos oss!

Who are you?
My name is Paulina, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Germany. Usually I study International Development Management in the Netherlands but I am currently doing an Erasmus Semester at Lund University! In my free time I love to draw and paint and I also do dance and like to go on hikes!

What is your role?
I am currently the head of decorations within the Ball Committee.

What are you most excited for with the event?
I am really excited to experience a typical Swedish student ball, as well as seeing everything that we planned within the committee come to live and see people enjoying it!

What is the best part of being on the committee?
The best part of being on the committee is working together with everyone and being able to exchange and discuss different ideas. You also get to know a lot of people, which is really fun!
