Three days of conversations about the future of scholarly communication
LundOnline 2026 has come to a close after three days of discussions, new perspectives and encounters in Lund.
Under this year’s theme, ”Access to Knowledge – Joining Forces towards Community and Sustainable Publishing”, librarians, publishers, researchers, research funders and other actors in scholarly communication have come together to explore some of the major questions shaping the field today – from community-led publishing, changing consortium strategies and research assessment to AI, publication ethics and sustainable Open Access.
But a conference is about more than what happens on stage. Just as important have been all the conversations continuing over coffee, around the exhibition tables and during the conference reception – bringing together colleagues from across the Nordic countries and beyond.
This afternoon, LundOnline concluded with a panel discussion on a question that has run through much of the conference: How can we move towards more sustainable Open Access?
Thank you to all our speakers, panellists, sponsors and participants – and to everyone who has contributed ideas, perspectives and conversations over these three days. You have made LundOnline 2026 a truly inspiring meeting place for scholarly communication.
Here are some glimpses from three memorable days in Lund.
