Our Master student, Berlin based multi-media artist Claudia Maharaj, wrote her thesis on social virtual reality places, and what they can tell us about social inequality and harassment. She has now turned that thesis into an article for influential online magazine Virtual Reality Pop. Read the article here.

What the past, phenomenology and physics can tell us about social inequality and harassment in social VR spaces today.

We are finally through with reading the second batch of application letters - what an amazing group of people are interested in studying with us. The true value of international collaborative course is in the people who want to study with us and you guys are amazing! It will take a few more days before the results reach you, but we are looking forward to working with such an inspiring group of people. Hoping to inspire also people who are not studying with us with another autumn conference. We already have the dates - September 4-5, so look forward to inspiring event then!

We had the most wonderful first round of admissions, over 240 inspirational letters of intent. We have made our decisions and admissions will forward some glad news to people. We had to leave many wonderful people behind, especially as we are going to have another round of admissions, this time more focused around European candidates whose documents do not need that long time of verification. But our autumn looks bright with the making of the great new group of Media and Communication students.

As you perhaps have realised, our programme can be attended both online and on site here in Malmö. While being in Malmö is super nice, then there are benefits of studying online and you might be able to get best of two worlds. Here are some opinions from Ana, studying with us from Portugal
Q 1. What would be the best part of the course for you personally?
A: There are many different and interesting things I love about the course. The course is very well structured, and the assignments are organised in a way that really make us learn by doing. Plus, we are encouraged to think by ourselves and express our own opinions. That's a must!!

Q 2. How does the collaborative structure of the course helpful in doing this masters in combination with your other responsibilities?
A: Although I am attending the course 100 per cent online, I really feel I am part of a group. There is a great team spirit. People tend to be flexible and respectful of each other's times, which is great when we combine classes with other responsibilities.

We have gathered a few more experiences from our students, so let me introduce Lisa, 23. Originally from Luxemburg.

Q.1 . What do you like most about the K3 campus?
What I really like is that the different buildings, Orkanen and Niagara are close to each other. Aesthetically, they are pretty unique and look very different. I love how Niagara looks from the inside, and how easy it is to gather and meet with the students. Perhaps the best aspect is the varied and frequently organized activities on campus. This offers great opportunities to meet new people, whether they are from your class, or from other programs, you can meet, socialize, and participate in activities together.

Q. 2. What’s the best things about attending classes in Malmö?
When you are attending classes in Malmö, you are close to the other students and the teachers. The groups tend to be somewhat smaller, which I consider as an advantage. This way, the teachers can better focus themselves on our questions. Even though it’s great to have the choice to follow the program on-line I personally prefer being ‘at the place itself’.

While there is still time get your entry papers ready and prepare for motivation letter, let me share a few students and their stories about learning in Malmö.

Jake, originally from Montreal, Canada.

Q.1 . What do you like most about the K3 campus?
I really like that everything is pretty close together, and you can easily walk from one building to the next. You don’t have to take the bus from one class to another. I like the new building, Niagara. It feels clean, fresh and tidy. And the food is pretty good!
Q. 2. What’s the best things about attending classes in Malmö?
I think you feel part of a community. The program that we are doing, you can either be on-line or follow it on the campus itself. But I think it’s more engaging to be here. It feels like I have a connection with the other students.
