On Linnaeus University’s social media accounts, we write about current events at the university, with focus on education and research. We are happy to have a dialogue with our followers and, therefore, welcome comments and contributions to knowledge and discussion. However, in order to create a pleasant atmosphere where as many as possible want to contribute to the dialogue, we have commenting rules that everyone must follow. To keep in mind:
- Use a good tone and respectful language.
- Show respect for other people.
- Claims need to be based on science.
- Discussions must be relevant and stick to the subject matter of the post.
- If the same comment occurs several times in the feed this will be considered spam and all comments – including the original comment – will be deleted.
- Comments are written in your own name and both first name and last name of the user must be evident.
- Comments that break the law or contain unlawful content will be reported to the police.
- Individuals who repeatedly break the regulations will be blocked. The following will be removed by moderator:
- Irrelevant comments.
- Offensive, scornful or insulting comments.
- Personal attacks and ridicule.
- False or obviously incorrect information.
- Comments with links to pages where it is not immediately clear what the content of the link is.
- Photos or videos where we cannot assess whether the user has the copyright for the material.
- Public documents
- Posts written here are considered public documents and will be registered and archived if they are of such character that they are covered by the applicable regulations.

Would you like to explore another country, gain international experience and discover new perspectives during your studies? There are several ways to make your education more international, both abroad and on campus.

1. Exchange studies

Study for one semester or a full academic year at one of our partner universities around the world. Experience a new academic environment, discover another culture and meet students from different backgrounds.

2. Short courses abroad

Take part in short courses or summer programmes in another country. These offer a chance to explore a new academic environment and gain international experience without spending a full semester abroad.

3. Internship abroad

Gain practical work experience in an international setting. Develop new skills, apply your knowledge in a professional environment and gain valuable insights into your future career. Opportunities depend on your programme and circumstances.

4. Write your thesis abroad

Give your degree project an international perspective by conducting research or fieldwork in another country. One option is Minor Field Studies (MFS), which allows eligible students to carry out field studies in a developing country as part of their degree project.

5. EUniWell – study across Europe

Linnaeus University is part of EUniWell, a network of European universities collaborating on well-being and sustainability. Explore opportunities to take courses and participate in learning activities with students from other European universities, online or on site.

6. International experiences on campus

You don't have to travel abroad to gain international experience. Meet international students, attend guest lectures by international academics and explore global perspectives through your studies. You can also become a buddy to an international student, helping them settle in and discover student life in Sweden.

Would you like to put your knowledge into practice, make international connections and experience everyday life in another country? As a student at Linnaeus University, you have the opportunity to do a internship abroad💼✈️

Gain valuable work experience, fresh perspectives and the chance to grow both personally and professionally. Your internship can be part of your degree or take place alongside your regular studies, for example during the summer.

This year, the IKEA and Södra Scholarship was awarded to Eugene Mawunyo Ahiaveh from Ghana and Sebastián Zenteno from Mexico. Congratulations!🥳👏

Each year, The IKEA and Södra Scholarship gives international students the opportunity to pursue one of the master’s programmes connected to The Bridge at Linnaeus University.

"To me, receiving the IKEA and Södra Scholarship means having the opportunity to focus completely on my studies and making the most out of my programme without having to worry so much about financing my education", says Eugene, who studies Forestry for Green Sustainable Development.

Sebastian, who studies on the Innovation master with specialisation in engineering, continues by explaining why he chose Linnaeus University:
"The 'student city' campus is unique in Sweden, but I was even more impressed by the syllabus. I haven’t come across another programme that combines three faculties. I believe this unique approach teaches you how innovation works in a real, complex environment, which was exactly what I was looking for".

What does it take to create meaningful change in a complex world? 🌍
That is one of the questions students in the new Master’s Programme in Relational Design will explore. Launching in autumn 2027, the programme is designed for designers who want to develop their artistic practice while gaining knowledge of how design can be used to create positive and responsible change.

“Equipping more people with the skills to contribute to meaningful change is not only important for us as human beings, but for the entire living world that our existence depend on” says Petra Lilja, programme coordinator.

Through collaboration, fieldwork, hands-on making, and critical dialogue, students will develop an independent design practice and build competencies that are increasingly sought after in a time of ecological, social, and technological transformation. The programme Relational design + Change will be taught in Växjö within an international learning environment.

Josephine’s interest in leadership took her from Ghana to Kalmar to take the master’s programme Leadership and Management in International Contexts – but her journey to graduation was not without its challenges. In her newly published book The Angel Ami, Josephine shares her journey and her experiences as an international student.

When Josephine was about to begin her studies, there was a delay in granting her a residence permit, and the situation caused a great deal of worry and uncertainty. As the title of the book suggests, she received help from Ami, a Swedish woman who supported her and her young daughter throughout the process. Through her book, Josephine hopes to help other international students avoid ending up in the same situation. She also hopes that the book will find readers among Swedes, particularly Swedish students.

“I hope that Swedes too will be able to take something from the book and that it’ll provide insight into the situation many international students find themselves in. Hopefully, this can lead to greater understanding and a different kind of hospitality for those who move to Sweden from other countries,” says Josephine.
