A few years ago, I left Helsinki with a suitcase and a lot of uncertainty. No familiar faces, no safety net, just a decision and a dream. LNU gave me more than a degree. It gave me friendships that became family and versions of myself I didn't know existed. Graduating feels bittersweet in the most beautiful way. Thank you, LNU. For the growth. For making me a Change Maker💛💛💛.

The annual graduation exhibition of the design students took place last week. The exhibition was created by 50 students from Linnaeus University’s four design programmes, where issues of equality, social sustainability, creative collaboration, and the environment were explored.

What the students have in common is an interest in using design as a tool for change and contributing to a more sustainable future. Katrina is one of the exhibiting students and says it has been an intense period to ensure that everything was completed on time.
“The most enjoyable part has been working together – both with fellow students and with external partners,” says Katrina.

“Seeing how all our effort and all our ideas have been materialised and become reality has been absolutely magical!” says Katrina.

Miguel Salinas, senior lecturer and teacher within the design programmes, says that the students’ degree projects demonstrate the breadth of the design field.
“In addition to giving visitors an insight into the breadth of design, the exhibition also reflects the ideas, values, and perspectives that characterise our programmes at the Department of Design,” Miguel explains.

🎉 Teachers of the Year 2026 have been announced! 🎉

Every year, Linnekåren highlights the teachers who have made a particularly strong impact on our students. The award is based entirely on student nominations and motivations and this year’s winners have truly inspired, supported, and made a difference in an extraordinary way.

In Växjö, the award goes to Jörgen Fors, who is praised for his engaging teaching style, his dedication, and his ability to make even complex subjects understandable and inspiring. Students describe him as a teacher who sees everyone, builds motivation, and helps them believe in their own abilities.

In Kalmar, the award goes to Björn Elmgren, recognized for his commitment, warmth, and ability to create an inclusive and safe learning environment. Through his creativity, humor, and passion for his subject, he inspires students to grow and feel welcome.

Congratulations to Jörgen and Björn, and thank you for your outstanding contribution to our students! 🌟👏

June is a special month for many students, including myself, because it marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another ⛵

To celebrate the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our students, Linnaeus University held the Master's graduation ceremony in Kalmar on June 2nd 🥳

I would like to congratulate all graduates and wish them the very best as they take the next step in their careers, further studies, and future adventures. I hope the knowledge, experiences, and connections they gained at Linnaeus University will support them and myself on our journey ahead ✊

🌍 At Linnaeus University, we have students from different countries all over the world, creating a diverse and welcoming community. Today, I asked some international students why they enjoy living and studying here and what advice they would give to upcoming students. 🎓

Many students appreciate the beautiful natural surroundings, peaceful environment, and easy access to outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, and exploring nearby lakes and forests 🌲🚴. They also enjoy experiencing Swedish culture 🇸🇪, meeting people from different backgrounds, and participating in university events and student activities.

As a student, you have many opportunities to get involved in campus life, join student organizations, attend cultural events, and build friendships from around the world 🌍. Students also value the supportive learning environment, equality, and the opportunities available to everyone.

Their advice to new students is to stay open-minded, explore the local culture and nature, participate in activities, and make the most of the unique international experience that Linnaeus University offers .
