Another impressive shipment of Stafsjö knife gate valves is on its way to a customer in the pulp and paper industry.

Engineered for reliable performance in demanding pulp mill bleaching applications, this HX-T DN500 combines reliable shut-off performance with outstanding resistance to aggressive process media.

To withstand the harsh operating conditions, these valves feature titanium bodies and wetted parts, ensuring exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.

Part of Stafsjö's HX series, these high-pressure knife gate valves are designed for some of the industry's most severe applications.
Their through-going gate design ensures bi-directional tight shut-off, excellent flow characteristics, and dependable performance in high-consistency media such as pulp, chemicals, ash, and granulates.

This is a great example of how the right combination of valve design, material selection, and automation can deliver reliable performance in critical process applications.

Biomass processes are as diverse as the materials they handle.♻️

From food waste and sewage sludge to agricultural residues and by-products from the pulp and paper industry; biomass plays an important role in the production of renewable energy and bio-fertilizer. These processes also place high demands on the equipment involved. At Stafsjö we have a wide range of knife gate solutions to support all kinds of biomass processes. Worldwide!

- The Stafsjö range WB11, WB14 and the full stainless steel WB14E provide the user with valuable features such as full bi-directional capability and cavity-free full bore that prevents media build-up during operation. The WB14 and WB14E additionally adds dead-end capability, which normally is an appreciated feature amongst the maintenance personnel. With the valve installed on one fl**ge only, any downstream equipment can be disengaged, and the knife gate valve will be able to maintain its full sealing integrity.

- For abrasive and demanding biomass applications, the MV knife gate valve is often the natural choice. It can easily be customized to unique process conditions, and it also offers a very simple maintenance that in the long run have significant impact on the Total Cost of Ownership. From food waste to renewable energy. ♻️

At Tekniska Verken's biogas plant in Linköping, household food waste is transformed into biogas and bio-fertilizer, supporting a more circular and long-term sustainable society.

Behind the process lies a challenging environment characterized by abrasive media, low pH levels and demanding operating conditions, where reliable valve performance is crucial to maintaining stable production.

Check out the view we had from the office window the other day when Sanero visited our site with a vacuum truck made by Rolba Svenska AB to take care of some of our cutting fluid residues. So great to see it is equipped with a Stafsjö knife gate valve.👏

The knife gate valve used in this type of application is normally the Stafsjö MV, which is available in a wide range of materials and combinations. In vacuum truck systems it is typically supplied with a nodular iron valve body and a stainless steel gate, equipped with EBRO ARMATUREN double-acting pneumatic cylinder type SC.

The MV knife gate valve is often highly valued for its ability to operate reliably and to seal tight against all kinds of media. Another highly valued feature in these abrasive applications, is the Stafsjö retainer ring system that makes maintenance to go smooth and easy. In the long run, the retainer ring system further enhances its service life and has a significant impact on the valve Total Cost of Ownership.
