📣 The 8th Call for CIVIS Blended Intensive Programme proposals is now open!

Do you have an idea for an innovative learning experience? This call invites academics and teaching staff from CIVIS member universities and African Associate Member universities to collaborate with peers and develop BIPs for the 2027-2028 academic year.

Blended Intensive Programmes combine online learning with a short period of physical mobility, creating opportunities to connect teaching and research, explore innovative approaches and collaborate across universities.

Building on more than 250 CIVIS BIPs already implemented, we are now looking forward to the next ones.

🎓 A new milestone for joint education within CIVIS!

NAT4DD, the Joint Master’s Programme in Drug Development: From Natural Products to Formulations and Applications, has officially received European Approach accreditation.

Bringing together the National and Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών - University of Athens, Sapienza Università di Roma and the Universitatea din București, the programme is the result of close academic and administrative collaboration across three CIVIS member universities.

Behind this accreditation are teams who worked together to build a truly joint programme, from the curriculum and mobility pathways to assessment and student support.

One year of ... and here we go again! 🌍

A year ago, the first students joined CIVIS’ Master’s programme in Transdisciplinary Studies of Climate, Environment and Energy, beginning their studies together at Stockholm University before continuing across different universities of CIVIS Alliance.

One year later, the first cohort has built a community across disciplines, universities and countries, while a new group of 17 students is now beginning the same journey.

The latest CIVIS story looks back at TRACEE’s first year through the voices of the students and academics behind the programme.

Another packed day for CIVIS at !

From joint education to international partnerships, CIVIS colleagues contributed to conversations across the conference today.

Sara Laginder shared the experience behind the development of TRACEE, our Joint Master’s Programme in Transdisciplinary Studies of Climate, Environment & Energy.

Two poster presentations explored international cooperation within CIVIS, from our partnership with African universities to the contribution of Swiss and UK institutions to European Universities alliances.

And the conversation on the Joint European Degree Label continued at the European Commission stand, where Alexandru Carțiș and Nadia Manzoni joined Yann-Mael Bideau for a session on where the label stands today and what comes next.

The wider European Universities community was also well represented through FOREU4all, with two sessions organised by the European Commission exploring how the experiences and innovations developed within alliances can benefit institutions and higher education systems beyond the initiative.

A highlight of our day was welcoming our civizens at our booth F55, where CIVIS is news! It’s always so great to see you!
