Samhällsvetenskapliga föreningen (SF) är den största av de fyra fakultetsföreningarna vid Stockholms universitet. Fakultetsföreningarna är motsvarigheten till nationerna i Lund och Uppsala - på Stockholms universitet grupperas man in efter ämnestillhörighet i stället för vilket landskap man kommer ifrån. Statsvetenskapliga studentföreningen bildades som ämnesförening under Humanistiska Föreningen

i april 1937. 1954 bytte föreningen namn till Samhällsvetenskapliga studentföreningen vid Stockholms högskola. 1964 blev föreningen officiellt en fakultetsförening. 1968 satte föreningen sin medlemsavgift till noll kronor, och blev därför vilande. 1995 började några studenter planera för att återuppliva föreningen, och på hösten samma år höjdes terminsavgiften igen. Samhällsvetenskapliga föreningen vid Stockholms universitet (SF) var född. Den samhällsbyggande myran har länge varit föreningens symbol. 1964 togs det patent på den, av Bo Vading ritade, myra som ingår i SF:s logotyp. Café Bojan är den lokal som SF huserar i sedan 1997. Huset, som egentligen heter östra Nobelhuset, är uppfört av Nobelstiftelsen år 1909 som bostad åt Nobelpristagare Svante Arrhenius. Namnet Bojan kommer av den servitris som tidigare arbetade för studentkåren på restaurangen på Holländargatan (där kårhuset var fram till flytten till Frescati på 70-talet). SF huserar i huset sedan 1997, och förvaltar hela byggnaden sedan oktober 2000. På övervåningen håller SF till, tillsammans med några av våra ämnesföreningar. På undervåningen finns det nästan varje vardagskväll möjlighet att, för intresserade, anordna pubar, talare, filmvisningar eller något annat.
