Fashion Marketing and Entrepreneurship (FAME) Fashion Marketing and Entrepreneurship (FAME) research programme at the Stockholm University School Our goals are…

1.

Fashion Marketing and Entrepreneurship (FAME) is a research programme at the Stockholm University School of Business. We focus our research on the business and the designers’ point of view of fashion. We are interested in questions such as:

- How do fashion trends reflect the society we are living in?
- What have fashion trends and social change in common?
- Where do designers get their inspir

ation from and why do they pursue
certain ideas?
- How is fashion distributed and how does the whole production chain
work? To research the area of fashion and its character within the experience
economy.
2. To promote an interest among students in marketing for the inquiry of
fashion in general.
3. To build a bridge between the main actors in the field of fashion production
and the academic contribution to the study of fashion. Do you want more information about FAME or are you interested in working together with us, please contact us!

Wanted: Part time Research Assistant Late Feb – June 2018 for a study of the sustainable fashion market.

As part of the large research program Mistra Future Fashion (www.mistrafuturefashion.com) we will during the spring 2018 conduct an empirical study to map out and analyse the
market of pre-owned apparel. The project aims to capture and analyze the evolving and changing market of pre-owned
apparel. The current understanding of size, market share, variety in business models, and actors involved on the pre-owned market(s) is limited. Current analysis and understanding of that market include only established 2nd hand retailers from, primarily, non-profit sector and large e-traders such as Blocket and Tradera. This study will therefore include and analyze new market players such as Sellpy, retailers with mixed business models (new and pre-owned apparel), various new (e-)market players with a variety of business models and distribution channels such as off- and online stores targeting specific segments, leasing, and selling unsold retail, as well as estimating other markets such as flee-markets, sharing markets as well as Facebook groups on sharing. The research is guided by the aim of understanding the market for pre-owned apparel in Sweden and how it connects to a global market - and what potential role it can have in moving the fashion industry towards more sustainable practices? The project could easily be transformed into a thesis subject as well, especially in Marketing, Strategy, Management and International Business, since there is a lack of research in this emerging field of sustainable business models and sharing economy.
Are you a Master student at SSE and interested in the subject of sustainable fashion and of working half-time with this project as a research assistant during the spring, please email to learn more or send your short (2 pages) application to:
Email: [email protected]

With your application please include your CV. In the application include your interest in this field, potentially other work that you have done that will be of advantage in conducting this
research, potential skills in SPSS or other analytical tools. Please also state other commitments during the spring that might influence your availability. Also indicate if you
want to use the data as part of your thesis. The actual time to conduct the study (including analysis and co-writing of a report) is estimated to take 1-1 1/2 month full time and the full time salary level is 23 500 SEK/month – or 140 SEK/hour.
Please send your application before February 22.

Here I am with the representative of Art Futures Group in Hong Kong, which recommend an investment in art for collectors, investors and institutions. And as you know fashion and art is well connected simultaneously.
