Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Johan Floderus to Sverigesalen for the lecture “Freedom and Captivity.”

Through Johan’s story, we were given insight into 790 days in captivity — a personal and deeply moving account of uncertainty, vulnerability, and strength. His experiences not only offered a glimpse into an extraordinary situation, but also sparked important reflections on freedom, justice, and the values we often take for granted.

For those of you who were unable to attend — this was a conversation that truly resonated and stayed with us.

🙏 We are incredibly grateful to Johan for sharing his story with us, and to all of you who came, listened, and contributed to a respectful and engaging atmosphere.

The event is open to students outside the Swedish Defence University (FHS), but external participants are required to register using the link in bio. Those who work or study at FHS do not need to register🌟
 
Join us for a guest lecture by Lieutenant General (Ret.) In-bum Chun of the Republic of Korea Army – a former Special Warfare Commander, UN Armistice Commission Senior Member, and Director of U.S. Affairs at the ROK Ministry of Defense.

Cognitive warfare is no longer science fiction. It is happening now. From disinformation campaigns and AI-driven manipulation to psychological operations targeting trust in governments and alliances – Gen. Chun will explore how states like China and North Korea exploit the openness of democratic societies, and what militaries and governments can do to respond.

KOMPASS from Försvarshögskolans Studenktår participated in Defence Expo Sweden, an event organized by SOFF. The expo served as an important meeting place focused on the future of the defence sector, bringing together actors to exchange perspectives, foster understanding, and explore innovative solutions.

With around 200 exhibitors and 1,000 visitors, the expo enabled meaningful discussions and valuable networking opportunities. Representatives from key institutions such as the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, and people and companies from across the industry were present, contributing to insightful conversations about ongoing developments in the field.

KOMPASS would like to express its appreciation for the opportunity to participate in this significant event and to engage with professionals and stakeholders across the defence community!🌟💙

Everyone who has a Spring Ball ticket is invited to the cocktail evening next Thursday (April 16) from 17:00–23:00 (not 16:00 as previously stated).

Please note the dress code is cocktail, and this is a closed event! Only those with a Spring Ball ticket are allowed to attend🌟

All external guests/+1s who signed up via the form will be met at the entrance at 17:00 for entry💃

🎙️ Cyber Chats & Chill – Livepodd i Sverigesalen

Välkommen till en inspirerande livepodd om cybersäkerhet!

Den 15 april kl. 15.00–16.00 bjuder vi in till Cyber Chats & Chill oss på FHS – ett samtal där aktuella cyberfrågor möter personliga erfarenheter och insikter från branschen.

Eventet leds av Margarita Sallinen och Linda Nieminen, informations- och cybersäkerhetspecialister på Omegapoint samt medgrundare av Cyber Chats & Chill. Tillsammans skapar de ett öppet och engagerande samtalsklimat kring cybersäkerhetens roll i dagens samhälle.

Som gäst medverkar Karl Selin, senior cybersäkerhetsspecialist vid Nationellt Cybersäkerhetscenter (NCSC), som delar med sig av sina erfarenheter och perspektiv från arbetet med Sveriges cybersäkerhet.

Förra Torsdagen markerade Civila Sektionens sjätte möte, vilket innebär att sektionen har nått halvvägs genom sin mandatperiod🌞

Civila sektionens studentrepresentanter har regelbundet möten med skolans olika organ för att representera studenternas röst. Sektionen möts också ungefär en gång i månaden för att diskutera aktuella frågor (och fika såklart!).

Just nu vill sektionen växa och har flera öppna poster att söka. Är du sugen på att företräda ditt program eller ämne?
