▪️6:45 PM Screening ”Choropēdáō” by Jiyoung Yoon (Studio 4)
Jiyoung Yoon

▪️7:10 PM Jiyoung Yoon in conversation with Magnus Bärtås, artist, writer and head of research at Konstfack University of Arts Craft and Design, Stockholm (Studio 4)

”Choropēdáō”, video, 2024, 23 min.

The title of the video,”Choropēdáō”, is a romanization of the Greek word χοροπηδάω, close to the Swedish hoppsa. It names the movement somewhere between walking and running that children often make when they are happy — a word that exists in some languages and not in others.
The video begins with death masks and life masks and ends with a wax face made as a votive offering (ex-voto). It reveals how the artist, whose visual language passes through sculpture and especially mould-making, speaks through sculpture about "what is hidden," "what does not appear on the surface," and "what is believed," drawing on what is shared across languages and religions.
Following the approximately 20-minute screening, the artist will be in conversation with Magnus Bärtås about how materiality and medium carry what she wants to say.

Cooking as liberation practice

A conversation between two self-taught cooks about what happens in the kitchen once intention and presence overtake rules. When cooking is not seen as a burden or an act of performance, but rather a vital and dynamic relationship with time and seasons and a way to nourish and ground, it can be as liberating as an everyday freedom. Cook and designer Una Hallgrímsdóttir and Sara Pellegrini, who goes by the name Madame Cadec, met in Stockholm around the table. Today, they invite you to join them in exchanging over simple gestures.

▪️6 PM Performance installation: Imprints & Orientations by Hana Lee Erdman with Ulrika Berg, Philip Berlin and Louise Dahl (Dance Studio)
Hana Erdman

Set within an archipelago of five textile carpets, Imprints & Orientations begins with the ways the body carries landscape, and the landscape enters the body. Movement becomes a form of transmission: bodies travel from island to island, leaving traces as they cross the space. The carpets are created in collaboration with artist Lisa Blas, translating her oculus paintings into a textile field across the floor. The fascia — the connective tissue that runs throughout the body — holds and moves sensation, pressure and memory. Like the landscape, it is layered, porous, marked by what has passed through it. As bodies move through the space, pressure, sensation and memory circulate between body and environment. Here, the body is a movement of exchange: a passage connecting what is left behind with what is received.

▪️5:30 PM Lecture performance: ”Towards Whatever” by Evelina Jonsson with Johanna Jonsson (The Archive)
Evelina Jonsson

I’ve spent a lot of time in the archive during my residency, using the copy machine, experimenting with the distortion that occurs through the reproduction of the image. At open studios I’ll give a lecture performance in this space, presenting an extensive research on the Hellenistic sculpture The Winged Victory of Samothrace, the goddess Nike whom she represents, and the widespread copying of the same sculpture, with the help of the copy machine and my twin sister.

“Chlorophyllic Memory: To Blossom Images” (since 2019) considers plants as witnesses to historical events. This chapter looks at Egypt’s botanical collections: the herbarium at Cairo University, co-founded by Vivi Täckholm, Mohamed Derar, and others, and the flora that travelled into collections in Sweden and beyond. How can absences within these collections be sensed, and where does the logic of taxonomy fail?

4:30 PM Emma Hasselblad in conversation with Alicia Donat-Magnin, Curator at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern (Studio 8)
Emma Hasselblad

Emma Hasselblad meets curator Alicia Donat-Magnin to discuss textile art in public space, with a particular focus on the urban environment and Sergels torg in Stockholm. The conversation takes its starting point in Hasselblad’s work “Det överblommade tornet”, a temporary public commission for Sergels torg that was project-led by Donat-Magnin.

They will discuss temporary art and the value it can bring to the urban environment by transforming and adding to a place for a limited period of time. They will also explore questions of size, scale, and colour, as well as the artistic process—from the initial idea and construction to materials and execution—and, of course, the fact that the work is hand-knitted.

4 PM Karlsson & Björk in conversation with Eric Snodgrass, Eric Snodgrass, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Design, Linnaeus University, Växjö (Kitchen)
Karlsson & Björk

In Prosthesis, freshly pruned branches from nearby trees, processed aluminium profiles, and discarded bricks are combined using a custom-designed, 3D-printed prosthesis. Together, they form a combination of functional objects and sculptural structures.
Prosthesis questions the structures underlying the production of mass-produced objects. Do we need to die-cast aluminium to create a base for a lamp, or could we use natural stone or even discarded rocks from a building site? Do we need to cut down a tree, process the wood, and ship it around the world for production, only to send it back again? Or could we simply find a suitable branch, cut it, and use it?
Prosthesis draws inspiration from pre-industrial civilizations, combining their approaches with the latest technology.

14:30 Screening: ”RUIN!” by Rosa Aiello and Dylan Aiello (Studio 6)
Dylan Aiello

“RUIN!”, video, 28 min. Rosa Aiello and Dylan Aiello 2026.

“RUIN!” is an experimental docu-fiction about erotics and community belonging in Calabria, southern Italy. Mother Anna and son Dinú are Canadians that have integrated into a small rural community. Both seek thrills through different forms of transgressive intimacy. Using participatory filmmaking approaches, the film slips uneasily between reality and fiction, between posturing and true connection, to discover what pleasure has to do with breaking the rules.

2 PM and 7:15 PM Screening: ”Edge of Empire” by Josefin Arnell (Studio 2)

7:35 PM Josefin Arnell in conversation with Caterina Avataneo, Associate Curator at Cripta747 (Turin/London)

”Edge of Empire”, Video, 23 min.

These days, everybody wants to live forever, not only oligarchs and world leaders. Longevity treatments could include getting bitten by a vampire, which would make these bloodsuckers suddenly be in high demand. Such is the fate of the famous Styrian vampire Carmilla in Josefin Arnell’s revisiting of Sheridan Le Fanu’s eponymous 1872 Gothic novella. Played by Florentina Holzinger, Carmilla finds herself in present-day Austria—a place saturated with imperial nostalgia and eager tourists—where she has become a sought-after commodity.
