Title: eDNA biodiversity and monitoring of deep-sea fishes and elasmobranchs in the Azores archipelago.
Dr Diana Catarino and Dr Ana Veríssimo are looking motivated PhD candidates to develop a research project on eDNA-based biodiversity monitoring of deep-sea fishes and elasmobranchs in the Azores archipelago. The PhD candidate will develop his/her project in two partner institutions: Okeanos - University of the Azores and CIBIO - University of Porto.
The selected candidate will develop a proposal to apply to the 2026 Portuguese Science Foundation (FCT) Call for PhD Studentships (deadline March 31, 2026).

Requirements: previous experience in molecular biology laboratory techniques.
