New Head of the Department of Engineering Science appointed 🥳
Tehseen Aslam has been appointed the new Head of the Department of Engineering Science at University West.
Tehseen is currently Vice-Rector for Collaboration and Senior Lecturer in Automation Engineering at the University of Skövde. He has many years of leadership experience within academia, in both research and education, and has worked strategically with collaboration between academia, industry and the public sector.
“The decision to appoint Tehseen Aslam is primarily based on his many years of successful leadership experience within academia, both in research and education. He has also worked strategically in a university-wide role focused on collaboration, which is highly significant given that collaboration is central to our mission,” says Mats Jägstam, Vice-Chancellor of University West and Chair of the recruitment committee.
Tehseen is already well acquainted with University West, particularly within engineering and technology, and is looking forward to taking on his new role.
“It feels truly exciting, enjoyable, and also somewhat life-changing to step into the role of Head of Department at University West. The university has several strengths that attracted me to apply. These include its outstanding research in production technology and, equally importantly, its clear profile as a collaborative university,” says Tehseen Aslam.
