We're proud that the NUS Centre for Ion Beam Applications (CIBA) under Department of Physics, NUS has been designated as an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Collaborating Centre for Research and Development of Accelerator Science and Multidisciplinary Applications!

As the first IAEA Collaborating Centre in Singapore, CIBA now joins a select group of high standard technical centres with outstanding contributions in nuclear science and technology in the world.

The Collaborating Centre will advance accelerator science technologies for real-world applications such as cancer tumour eradication, detection of toxic substances and analysing forensic and heritage samples. CIBA is also working on an IAEA Coordinated Research Project that brings together scientists from 12 countries on single-cell imaging and radiation for applications in cancer treatment.
