Programme Structure|Master the Tools of Tomorrow: MSc in Precision Scientific Instrumentation

The MSc in Precision Scientific Instrumentation (MSPSI) offers a flexible study pathway, with options for a 1-year full-time or 2-year part-time schedule across 3 trimesters per year. All classes are conducted on weekday evenings (6:30 PM–10 PM) or Saturdays at NTU’s main campus.

Curriculum at a Glance
Total Credits: 30 AUs
Compulsory Course: 3 AUs
Prescribed Electives (from your chosen specialisation): 12 AUs
Unrestricted Electives: 15 AUs
Optional 23‑week Internship/Project: 6 AUs (within elective credits)

Hands-On & Industry-Aligned
The programme includes the possibility of a 6‑AU internship or project, giving you real-world experience in instrumentation, semiconductor, photonics, or related high-tech sectors.

Graduation Requirements
Completion of all coursework with a minimum CGPA of 2.50

✨Pursuing a PhD often begins with a period of exploration—understanding research directions, finding the right academic fit, and building the confidence to move forward. For Wang Haowen, the MSc in Precision Scientific Instrumentation (MSPSI) programme became a defining step in shaping his research path.

✨Through experimental modules, exposure to multiple research areas, and close interaction with faculty and research groups, he gained clarity in choosing his doctoral path. The MSPSI programme also provided strong academic support and a collaborative learning environment that shaped both his research perspective and personal growth.
