On 1 August 2026, NTU Graduate College celebrated the achievements of its PhD graduates at the inaugural PhD Conferment Ceremony.

We were honoured to welcome Mr. Shou Zi Chew, CEO of TikTok, and Dr. Aaron Ciechanover, 2004 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and Distinguished Research Professor at Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, who delivered inspiring addresses to our graduating cohort. Their messages encouraged our graduates to pursue bold ideas, embrace curiosity, and create meaningful impact through their work.

Congratulations to our PhD Class of 2026. We wish you every success as you embark on the next chapter of your journey and continue to create meaningful impact through research, innovation, and leadership.

We were honoured to welcome 2004 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Dr. Aaron Ciechanover, Distinguished Research Professor at Technion–Israel Institute of Technology, as a speaker at our PhD Conferment Ceremony on 1 August 2026.

In his address, Dr. Ciechanover encouraged our graduates to pursue work that brings purpose and fulfilment, reminding us that true success lies not in wealth or status, but in the meaningful contributions we make to the world.

Congratulations once again to our PhD Class of 2026. As you embark on the next chapter of your journey, we wish you every success in creating a positive impact through your research, innovation, and leadership.

Relive the highlights of ASPIRE League 2026, where postgraduate students around the world came together to explore this year's theme, "Active Ageing: Interdisciplinary Solutions for Longevity and Wellbeing."

From thought-provoking workshops and visits to the Joint NTU–UBC Research Centre of Excellence in Active Living for Healthy Longevity (LILY) to collaborative team challenges and new friendships, it was a week filled with learning, innovation, and shared experiences.

Thank you to everyone who made ASPIRE League 2026 such a memorable experience.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, the hardware powering these technologies must also become smarter and more energy-efficient.🔋

Meet Falihah Balqis, a Year 4 PhD Student in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme, who is researching Poly(ionic liquid)s for Neuromorphic Computing. By developing materials for next-generation AI hardware, her work aims to make AI systems more energy-efficient and sustainable.

That’s a wrap for the Asian Science and Technology Pioneering Institutes of Research and Education (ASPIRE) League Forum 2026! 🎉

Held from 6–10 July at NTU, this year's programme brought postgraduate students together to tackle the theme, "Active Ageing: Interdisciplinary Solutions for Longevity and Wellbeing." Through workshops, site visits, and collaborative team challenges, participants explored innovative ideas to address real-world issues in active ageing.
