Though situated in an Asian country, the academic model employed by TUM Asia is nevertheless German in its roots, with an emphasis on industry readiness and innovation. Since 2002, TUM Asia has been running joint Master Programmes conferred by TUM, with NTU and NUS. The students have access to a diverse range of professors who are among the best

in their field of expertise, as well as possessing a wealth of industry experience. TUM Asia also collaborates with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), offering 2 Bachelor's programmes - Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Data Engineering; and Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering. All degrees are campus-blind & conferred by TUM, thus our graduates have a world-renowned education which qualifies them to work in the best companies the industries have to offer. TUM Asia is registered in Singapore as an Institute of Higher Learning (IHL). CPE Registration Number: 200105229R / Registration Period: 13.06.2017 - 12.06.2023

From curiosity in the classroom to shaping Singapore's rail network 🚆✨

Meet Hu Rui, our Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Best Student in Rail, Transport and Logistics! His journey took him from TUM Asia to the Technical University of Munich, where he combined rigorous coursework with hands-on research in vibration analysis and FEM simulations — before returning to Singapore as a Railway Engineer at LTA.

But Hu Rui's story isn't just about grades. It's about staying curious, asking questions, and never being afraid to learn beyond the syllabus.

"Academic success is not only about studying hard for exams. It is about staying curious, being proactive and continuing to learn beyond the classroom."

A night to remember with our TUM Alumni Community in Singapore! 🎓✨

From graduates of TUM's very first cohort in Singapore to our newest alumni, it was special to see generations come together. We were honoured to host TUM President Prof. Dr. Thomas F. Hofmann in person, who fielded our burning questions and reminded us to stay curious.

The evening was further enriched by two alumni who shared their journeys: Mr. Rohit Ghosh, Master's Class of 2006, and Ms. Suzy Tan, Bachelor's Class of 2024 — nearly two decades apart, yet both reflecting how the TUM experience continues to shape lives.

Huge thanks to TUM Alumni & Career and TUM Alumni Chapter Singapore for making this gathering possible, and to TUMCREATE for hosting us at their office. 🙏

See you at our next gathering — Oktoberfest on 25 September 2026! Stay tuned. 🍻

Congratulations to our 271 graduates of the Class of 2026 ✨🎓

Our graduation ceremony welcomed distinguished speakers — Prof. Thomas Hofmann (President, TUM), Guest of Honour - Mr. Heng Swee Keat (Inaugural Chancellor, SIT), Mr. Eduard Ruge (Science and Tech Counsellor, German Embassy) and TUM alumnus - Dr. Ong Lay Hwa (Head of Energy Transition, Shell) Each of them brought their own perspectives, shared through their respective experiences, but united by one message: stay curious, and to not be afraid of uncertainty. That's often where the greatest breakthroughs come from.

We also heard a heartfelt valedictorian speech from Hu Rui, MSc in Rail, Transport and Logistics, who reflected on the journey, growth and memories that shaped his time at TUM Asia.

To our graduates — the late nights, the challenges, the moments of doubt — they all led you here. We're so proud of you.

At TUM Asia, learning doesn’t stop at the lecture theater. Our cohorts recently stepped out into the ecosystem to gain firsthand insights from two distinct industry leaders: Pelagus and A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research)!

🏢 At Pelagus, students gained valuable industry perspectives, exploring how engineering concepts translate directly into real-world commercial applications.

🔬 At A*STAR, the team got an inside look at the national R&D frontlines, learning about advanced manufacturing, deep-tech research methodologies, and the future of engineering design.

Immersion experiences like these give our students a crucial edge—connecting classroom theory to industrial ex*****on and opening doors to future career pathways in Singapore and beyond.

A massive thank you to both organisations for having us and inspiring our future engineers!
