While studying Computer Science at SIM–University of London, Aaron Lee gained hands-on experience through internships with Singapore Ministry of Manpower and GovTech (Government Technology Agency of Singapore), where he applied classroom concepts to real-world projects and expanded his understanding of the field.

Not only did Aaron's efforts strengthen his technical skills, but it also earned him the SIM WILL Award, recognising students who actively pursue internships and holistic development.

For SIM-University at Wollongong student Elisha Tan, her semester at the University of Wollongong gave her the opportunity to experience a different academic environment, meet people from diverse backgrounds and learn how to navigate unfamiliar situations independently. Those experiences helped her grow in confidence and adaptability — qualities that will support her as she enters an increasingly global workplace.

A six-month internship with Amazon Web Services gave Nastasia Cheng the opportunity to learn about tech sales and build confidence working with customers and stakeholders. Coming from an International Relations background, she also challenged herself to develop technical knowledge from the ground up.

Her commitment to gaining real-world experience earned her the SIM WILL Award, a programme under SIM Impact Fund which recognises students who actively pursue internships and demonstrate a commitment to holistic development.

Today, Nastasia has gone on to secure a fulltime sales role with a fintech company, taking the experience she gained during her studies into the next stage of her career.

AI-GNITION Hackathon 2026 officially launched at SIM campus on 26 September! 🤖✨

Co-organised with Nexius Labs and Eslitec, AI-GNITION brings together students from polytechnics, junior colleges, ITE and international schools to explore the possibilities of AI systems and AI agents.

We were excited to welcome students from Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, NUS High School of Mathematics & Science, NPS International School, Anderson Serangoon Junior College and ITE College East to the launch event. 🙌

The afternoon brought together students, educators and industry professionals for learning, conversations, and networking, while giving participants a first look at the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in their hackathon journey.

SIM is honoured to have been recognised at the ISCA SCAQ Top Achievers & Partners Recognition Ceremony on 16 Sept 2026. The event celebrates the highest-achieving SCAQ students while recognising the learning organisations, educators and partners whose support help to develop Singapore’s future Chartered Accountants.
