It is not about street vagrants or beggars, as the common misconception goes. In fact, the instrument is potentially capable of making delightful and skillful music of a wide range of music genres, from classical to pop and jazz, with a unique touch of beauty. NUSHO has always championed the cause of music education. We believe it’s never too late to pick up music; and everybody can learn to appre
ciate and enjoy it. Music can make university life more interesting and enriching. NUSHO also provides good care and training to our members. We place great emphasis on grooming our members to reach their fullest potential. Members benefit from many heavily subsidized music training programmes, masterclasses conducted by harmonica virtuoso, and leadership development opportunities. NUSHO seeks to innovate and collaborates extensively with other art groups. Not only do we try to perfect our presentation on the traditional harmonica pieces, we also explore new ways of making harmonica music. We arrange many of our own music by adopting music from other genres and presenting it in harmonica orchestra settings. We try to innovate in our stage performances too, by incorporating multimedia elements and collaborating with other art groups such as choir and guitar ensemble.
