Flavours Of Singapore

On 8st February 2015, Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam arrived at New Delhi. The two countries mark 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations. This is President Tan's first state visit to India.
A grand dinner was organized for him at Hyatt Regency Hotel, called Flavours Of Singapore. Banquet was crowded with Bureaucrat, Diplomats and Business Associates from different nationality. Frankie Lim, College Director Raffles Delhi along with Chaity Tan, Visual Communication Lecturer from Raffles Delhi was also present at the occasion to welcome President Tan on his 1st visit to India. Mr Lim and President Tan exchange thoughts on Indian education and was extremely delighted to hear that Raffles have extended its roots from Singapore to India .President Tan’s keen interested on general life of Delhi people were another topic for discussion between them.

Madame Style Week 2014, marked a change in the field of fashion, as this was an event for bringing the stylists in front. The event was held on 22nd Nov 2014, at Sofitel, BKC Mumbai. As designers have always been the face of any major Fashion events taking place around the globe, their main vision was to get the stylist into the limelight. We were more than honored to have our alumni from Raffles Mumbai, Juhi Melwani with her partner Manisha Melwani put up their collection ‘लूटofyin’. लूटo fyin is an editorial collection based on the story of creating ‘New from Old’ which she believes is her forte. Her attires depict different generations, genders, peers and castes which manipulate the basic necessity of her clothing. We are glad that our student has started her career on such a grand platform. On behalf of Raffles Design International, Mumbai we would like to congratulate her for her new venture and wish her all the luck and success.

Raffles Design International, Mumbai organized a study trip to London & Paris for our Interior Design students. Paris known for its urbanism, architecture and fashion through ages has kept people engaged in it’s magnificence. London on the other hand influenced the students with its World Heritage Sites, art galleries, museum, galleries and much more. They captured the British Museum, Millennium Bridge, Trafalgar Square, The Gherkin to name a few from London & Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum,Cathedrale Notre- Dame De Paris,La Defense & Arch de Triomphe from Paris.We are sure that these heavy presence of art and culture played an important role in motivating our students. Special thanks to Mariana Ortega and Leonardo, our Interior Design faculty who not only accompanied our students but also helped them in broadening their creative horizons.

Raffles Design International,Mumbai would like to congratulate our students Li Zhenyang , David Raphael , M.Durgadevi Smruti and Divya Sughand for winning ‘The Park ELLE DECOR Student Contest’.As per the format he students have won awards for different categories . Li and David’s ‘Lisse light’ has won in the Lighting category as first place joint winners while Smruti and Divya’s Piped has won first place in the Seating category.
Smruti and Divya’s concept revolves around ergonomic furniture which are designed to suit a range of people. We would like to congratulate our students for giving Raffles Mumbai an opportunity to appear on such a prestigious scale. The Park ELLE DECOR Student Contest award will be held on the 12 Feb at NSIC grounds, Okhla where our students will be given the awards.

Raffles Design International, Mumbai would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to our alumni Arrnavb Mitraa for launching his own Pop up Store ‘Idiot Theory’. Situated in Versova , the store was inaugurated by actress Neha Sharma,in the presence of founder Meenaksy Mitra and C.E.O. Arrnavb Mitraa .His brand concepts are fun ,cool and cater to the younger generation .It includes various products like mugs, stationery, books which are doodled with different designs capturing the essence of the city ‘Mumbai’. What caught everyone’s attention was the ‘Chaiwalla Collection’ which was unique in its own way. It comprised of ethnic kurtis , chic jackets, shorts, pyjamas, cutting chai cups and a lot more. While they have been selling their items online since last year, this outlet is their first in the city. We would like to wish him all the luck in the near future and hope that his venture attains whatever it desires.

Raffles Design International, Mumbai would like to congratulate our alumni Piyush Saraf who was awarded 'ABID Choice Designer Stall' by renowned architect Shri Ajit Jain. Being an inspiration for other future designers, his work was appreciated by all visitors and renowned architects of east India. Their concept was designed around a studio apartment with various amenities just in an area of 240 sq.ft. We would like to extend our heartiest congratulations for being appreciated for their designs and wish him all the luck for his future.
His company Creative Hub Pvt Ltd is an innovative & creative Interior/Exterior designing firm. Over the years they have expanded slowly, with an accumulative number of clients coming from the appraisals for our credibility, speed &quality of work. Their work includes various residential projects, corporate office, restaurants, and few major projects one of them being a temple at Kishanganj, Kanki .His venture specializes in Conceptual Designing, Furniture Design, Interior Design, Landscape designing to name a few. We hope and wish that his work and company gets the deserved recognition and appreciation in the market.
