Career Wednesdays at SPMS | What I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Entered the Working World

What does it really take to build a career after graduation?

Join SPMS alumnus and Alumni Mentoring Programme mentor Willis Lau (Class of 2013, CBC) as he reflects on more than 13 years of working life and the lessons he wishes he had known earlier.

From building transferable skills and self-awareness to developing relationships, reputation and financial runway, Willis will share how small, intentional steps can create more options for your career in the long run.

From Singapore to Seoul 🇰🇷

Year 2 Mathematics student Zhou Runhe attended ICML 2026 in Seoul, where he presented his first-author research on geometric deep learning in multimodal neurotechnology.

From presenting his work and exploring poster sessions to attending keynotes, connecting with researchers and exploring industry opportunities, the experience gave Runhe new perspectives on the future of machine learning.

Lanterns, laughter & a little friendly competition 🏮🌕

Our SPMS students came together to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with an afternoon of lantern making, creativity, laughter and friendly competition ✨

From getting creative with their lantern designs to sharing ideas and having fun together, it was a great opportunity to connect, unwind and enjoy the festive spirit.

And of course, we added a little friendly competition 👀 Our Top 10 lanterns walked away with prizes! 🏆
