Congratulations to Jordan Lim, a fourth-year undergraduate student, for representing and Team Singapore at the 2026 Asian University Cup in Hainan, China.

Competing in the U120 Men’s Category, Jordan won Bronze medals in both the Squat and Deadlift events, and placed 3rd overall in the competition. The Asian University Cup brings together student-athletes from across the region, showcasing sporting excellence at the university level.

Sharing about the experience, Jordan said, “Powerlifting was a sport I turned to as a form of de-stressing amidst the hectic pace of life, which eventually became about discipline, consistency, and pushing beyond my limits. Representing both country and school was beyond memorable, and I am grateful for everyone who supported me through my journey of getting onto the international stage. I am proud to have represented both Singapore and NTU at the competition.”

A proud moment for Jordan and the community. 💪🏻🏅

is an experiential learning module where students produce documentaries overseas. This year, our ODYSSEERS travelled to Manila.

Their journey came to life at a special private screening held at Filmhouse, where the cohort premiered their documentaries to friends, family, and invited guests after months of hard work, creativity, and discovery.

We were honoured to have Ms Renee Chua, Second Secretary and Consul (Cultural and Filipino Community Relations) of the Embassy of the Philippines in Singapore, as our Guest of Honour. Her presence made the evening even more meaningful, especially as the films will also be screened at the Embassy.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported our student filmmakers. We are incredibly proud of this cohort and cannot wait to see where their storytelling journeys take them next. 🎬

12 stories. One screen. A year in the making.

Filament 2026 brought together family and friends for a private screening at Filmhouse, celebrating the work of our graduating students. As an annual showcase of films from the Broadcast Media and Cinema Studies track, it featured 6 narratives and 6 documentaries, all created as part of their Final Year Projects.

Presented across three screening segments, the films reflected months of development and showcased distinct creative voices. Each segment concluded with a Q&A, where students shared their creative process and what inspired them to explore their chosen themes. Together, the films reflect the skills, perspectives, and storytelling approaches developed during their time at .

Organised entirely by students, Filament 2026 highlights the dedication and teamwork behind bringing these projects from idea to screen.

ODYSSEE (Overseas Documentaries You Should See) is an experiential learning module that challenges students to step out of the classroom and into the world to tell meaningful, human-centred stories.

Anchored on the theme “Heritage in the Age of Digital,” students gain both academic grounding and hands-on experience in documentary filmmaking, from developing story ideas and pitching concepts to navigating real-world production overseas.

This year, 15 students, led by Dr Kym Campbell, travelled to Manila to explore the question: What shapes Filipino identity?

Across diverse teams, students documented a range of lived realities, from social issues such as flooding and land reclamation to culturally celebrated icons like pageantry, music, and dance.

Through conversations with locals and firsthand observation, they captured how people adapt, celebrate, and persevere.

Beyond the films, students navigated real-world challenges, adapted on the ground, and built meaningful connections with the communities they documented, gaining perspectives that extend far beyond the classroom.

As the teams move into post-production, stay tuned for the stories to come.🎬
