Crime solved? Almost.

Huge congratulations to our Psychology students for taking Runner-Up in the University Category at CBAC 2026!

From analysing fictional crime cases and developing behavioural profiles to presenting their findings at the final case conference, the team put classroom learning into action…all while juggling internships. 💪

Here’s some information on CBAC. The Criminal Behavioural Analysis Competition (CBAC) is a crime-solving and profiling event in Singapore organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), and the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

🧠👀 Did you know a simple moment of eye contact can shape how babies learn?

Our faculty member, Professor Victoria Leong, together with researchers from the University of Cambridge, first discovered that when an infant and an adult make eye contact, their brainwaves synchronise.

Now, their latest study published in Nature Communications reveals why: eye contact acts like a “switch”, helping babies tune in to what’s important by synchronising their brain activity with the speaker’s—boosting early learning. ✨
