Over the past few years, Singapore made significant strides in EV adoption, outpacing many of its regional counterparts.

According to a report by Bloomberg, Singapore leads Southeast Asia in EV market pe*******on, with electric vehicles making up nearly 20% of all new car registrations. This shift comes amid government initiatives to encourage sustainable mobility, but a question lingers: is progress as smooth as it appears?

This is where Watt steps in with innovative solutions. Watt has developed a unique model to bridge these gaps, making EV charging accessible without the financial burden on property management.

New research from Murdoch University researcher Dr Amy Lim suggests that anti-Asian racism during COVID-19 was driven more by anger and blame than by fear of infection.

The study found that people who viewed Asians as responsible for the spread of the virus were more likely to support hostile and aggressive behaviour. This helps explain why discrimination during the pandemic often escalated beyond avoidance into harassment and violence.

The findings highlight the dangers of scapegoating and the importance of challenging misinformation and divisive rhetoric during times of crisis.

Anti-Asian racism during the COVID-19 pandemic was fueled more by anger than fear of infection, according to new research from Murdoch University in Australia. The study found that people who viewed A...

Feeling more creative in nature? It might just be a feeling.

New research across three experiments found that exposure to nature did not uniquely boost creativity compared with built or abstract environments.

From office spaces to urban walks and workplace décor, creative performance remained similar across natural and non-natural settings - highlighting the need to explore a wider range of environmental influences on creativity.

After an engaging talk by Professor Hamid Sohrabi on “Healthy Ageing for a Super-Aged Society” at Murdoch University Singapore campus, where he shared current research on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, an impromptu interview was conducted by our very own Psychology student, Ms Megan Yip.

The session explored the growing importance of brain health, early prevention, lifestyle factors, and the role of caregivers in supporting individuals living with dementia.

Professor Sohrabi also highlighted how staying mentally, physically, and socially active can contribute to healthier ageing and cognitive wellbeing.

Ever walked into a room and forgotten why?

It might feel small - but research shows these early changes can be part of something bigger.

A thoroughly engaging seminar entitled “Healthy Ageing for a Super-Aged Society” by Professor Hamid Sohrabi, Director (Centre for Healthy Ageing) and moderated by Professor Jacqueline Lo (Director of Murdoch University’s Indo-Pacific Research Centre) on healthy ageing highlighted a powerful reality:

Dementia doesn’t begin when symptoms appear - it starts years earlier.

One of the most important early signals?

Subjective Cognitive Decline—when individuals notice memory changes before tests detect them.

The encouraging part:
Up to 45–65% of dementia risk may be preventable through:
• Physical activity
• Lifelong learning
• Social engagement
• Managing health and lifestyle factors

Global studies show that structured, multi-domain interventions can maintain cognitive function.

Stay tuned – next week an interview by our Psychology student with Prof Hamid will be shared on this channel.
