NUS PhySoc

NUS PhySoc Since 1987, NUS Physoc has strived to promote interest in the study of various aspects of Physics under the Department of Physics.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Physics Society (PhySoc) is supported by an annually elected student management committee that is devoted to advance the welfare of our members. Our reach includes undergraduates, graduates and staff who have an interest in Physics, some of whom are from various departments, schools and faculties in NUS. We post articles regularly to inform students of ou

r events and other issues that are related to Physics. These are compiled into our very own annual magazine, Momentum. Our directions for this academic year (AY2016/2017) is creating opportunities for greater staff & student interaction, promoting the spirit of Physics and presenting Physics Society with novelty in the name of fun. We will seek out collaboration with fellow Academic Disciplines Coordinating Committees (ADCCs), related external organisations and sponsors, so as to further the welfare of our Society members.

Dear Physics Majors,

Are you passionate about sustainability and clean energy? Do you want to invent solutions that make Singapore a green and liveable home?

The College of Humanities and Sciences presents the inaugural NUS CHS Case Competition in partnership with KPMG, Ministry of Transport, and Schneider Electric.

The NUS CHS Case Competition Series is a platform for students to apply curriculum learning to formulate solutions for real-world issues that require an interdisciplinary approach. Students will practice evaluating the width and depth of the problem statement, drawing from the expertise of team members from different disciplines. The teams will develop solutions organically, in recognition of the fluid and complex nature of the problem. They will learn how to communicate effectively amongst team members, integrate individual contributions and collaborate for solutions. They will also have the opportunity to practice delivering clear, concise and articulate presentations of their findings to stakeholders. The competition is open to all active NUS students.

Do refer to the webpage (https://chs.nus.edu.sg/chs-competition-case/) and attached pdf for more information!
