Singapore e-Government Leadership Centre, NUS

Singapore e-Government Leadership Centre, NUS The Singapore e-Government Leadership Centre (eGL) was set up as collaboration between IDA; ISS and LKYSPP, both schools in the NUS.

Globally, Singapore is recognised as one of the leaders in the field of e-Government. The Singapore e-Government Leadership Centre (eGL) was set up as collaboration between Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore; and the Institute of Systems Science and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, both schools in the National University of Singapore. Service Offerings:
eGL’s mission is to facil

itate the adoption of ICT technology by governments through the provision of education, research and advisory services. eGL aims to inspire leaders through e-Government and ICT education – to share the knowledge and lessons learnt in Singapore e-Government and ICT initiatives with government participants and to help them accelerate economic development in their countries. eGL draws its knowledge from the Singapore government’s more than 30 years of effort in computerization and e-Government implementation. Our Philosophy:
We believe in helping the Governments develop their own people’s capability in a systematic way that will be directly and immediately useful to them. We also believe that by doing so, the Governments could become self-sufficient to implement electronic services and sustain their efforts in becoming fully e-Government. We also believe in working with our partners in delivering service excellence to our Customers.

e-Government Leadership Centre (eGL), ISS, successfully completed the a2i-eGL-TF Public Administration Programme on Data Driven Decision Making (DDDM), on 28 June 2021. The 36-month program was launched in February 2019 in Dhaka, under the access-to-information (a2i) program, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology, Bangladesh, and was co-funded by the Temasek Foundation (TF), Singapore. eGL trained over 200 public officers including specialists and leaders on use of data and analytics in making decisions to enhance citizen services, run efficient digital government processes and improve citizen engagement. The participants, in turn, cascaded the knowledge to an additional 320 officers in various ministries and agencies of the Bangladesh Government. This program was envisaged as an important component of Bangladesh’s strategy to achieve sustainable development goals (SDG) in 2030, as well as the Digital Bangladesh vision 2021.

The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was N M Zeaul Alam PAA, Senior Secretary, Information and Communication Technology Division, and was attended by senior officers from various government agencies, officials from eGL and a2i, key faculty members from eGL, and over 100 public officers from Bangladesh. The ceremony was conducted virtually over zoom.
