What’s something you loved, but life got in the way of?

For Shaun, it was squash.

Returning to the court gave him more than a way to stay active. It was time to reset, reconnect, and make space for himself amid work, family, and everything in between.

His reason for playing may have changed, but the sport continues to give him something worth holding on to. 🎾

Ever left a video call feeling like everyone was present, but no one was quite on the same page? It may not just be meeting fatigue. 🧠

When people collaborate well, their brain activity can actually begin to align. But in hybrid settings, many of the subtle cues that help this happen, from eye contact to body language, are harder to pick up.

Associate Professor Atiqah Azhari’s research explores what our brains need to collaborate effectively, and how we can create better conditions for people to think together.

Social Work alumna Lee Zi Xuan didn't believe she could become a social worker. Until two lecturers believed in her first.

Associate Faculty members Dr Goh Boon Yeow and Mr Mohd Ali Mahmood did more than teach. They encouraged her, challenged her to grow, and gave her the confidence to pursue the path she had always hoped for.

This Faculty Appreciation Day, we're celebrating educators whose impact lasts long after graduation. Thank you to all our faculty for believing in your learners, encouraging them to grow, and helping them become who they aspire to be.

How would you feel if a robot became part of caring for your loved ones? Would you trust it to provide the care they need? Would it feel helpful or unfamiliar?

As Singapore’s society ages, service robots could play a growing role in community care. But care is never just about technology. It is also about trust, ease of use, and human connection.

Read how our MGT570 postgraduate students put service robots to the test at an active ageing centre, working alongside staff and members to understand how technology can support everyday care in practical and meaningful ways.

Every SUSS journey starts with a first day.

This Saturday, we'll be welcoming our newest students as they take their first step into the SUSS community.

Meet your fellow freshmen, connect with seniors, explore campus life, and take your first step into a new chapter. It might feel exciting. It might feel a little nerve-wracking. Chances are it'll be a bit of both, and that's all part of the experience.

We can't wait to welcome you. See you at Freshmen Orientation! 💙

Have you ever wished you had someone beside you to guide you through a difficult concept, right when you needed it?

Everyone learns differently. Some need more time, some need more guidance, and some just need the right support to move forward.

At SUSS, iSmartGuide is an AI-enhanced learning platform that helps students through personalised assistance, real-time guidance, and accessibility features.

More than helping learners find quicker answers, it helps them think deeper, ask better questions, and engage more meaningfully with their learning.

Everyone has a team they're rooting for.
So we asked some of our SUSS Men’s and Women’s Football teams to share theirs.

From Norway's biggest supporters to one football legend, maybe everyone agrees on 🐐, their answers show that while loyalties may differ, the love for football is something they all have in common.

Swipe through to see who they're backing, the players they're watching, and what football has taught them beyond the pitch.

Every morning, he walks the same route. Same park. Same bench. Same 7 am.
It's not a health plan. It's just what he does.

But new research from SUSS shows that this is one of the strongest threads running through what it means to age well: a reserved seat at the kopitiam, a familiar route through the market, a neighbour you've greeted for twenty years.

We studied older adults in 🇸🇬 🇨🇦 🇨🇳 🇭🇰 🇬🇧, and this research has just been named the Singapore Social Equity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year (Higher Education) at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2026.

Because research that centres on real people, in their real routines, matters.
