At our recent MSc in Real Estate (MRE) Industry Roundtable, industry experts from private equity, real estate research and public-market investment analysis came together to discuss how AI is changing the way professionals identify opportunities, assess investments and make decisions.

The discussion explored where AI is adding value in practice, while highlighting the continued importance of market knowledge, experience and professional judgement in navigating complex investment decisions.

[NUSBIZ MSc in Accounting and Financial Analytics Fireside Chat] 

Students from recent MSc in Accounting and Financial Analytics (MACC) cohorts shared their experiences navigating the transition from university to the working world.

From securing internships and landing their first jobs to preparing effective job applications, the discussion offered students practical advice on taking their first steps into the accounting and finance industry.

The speakers highlighted the importance of tailoring resumes to specific job descriptions, including using AI to review role requirements and refine applications accordingly. They also emphasised the value of preparing different versions of a resume for different career paths, such as audit and taxation, to better reflect the skills and experience relevant to each role.

A big thank you to our panelists: Wu Yifan (Eva), Dai Yi Chen (Jennifer), Feng Wenjian, D**g Shen (Jacky) and Li Jiawen (Jessica), for sharing their experiences and advice with our students.

We would also like to thank Dr Hanny Kusnadi, Academic Director of the MACC programme, for joining us, and Marcello Makarios Sendjojo (Emcee) and Zhu Zengxi (Moderator) from The Master’s Club (MACC) for facilitating the session.

Through initiatives like these, MACC students can connect with alumni, learn from their experiences and gain practical insights to help them prepare for their future careers.

For Team 2, Di-DAOR, the JUMPSTART experience was an opportunity to put these qualities into practice.

Part of the NUS MSc in Strategic Analysis and Innovation (MSI) programme, JUMPSTART equips students with essential business tools, strategic thinking and collaboration skills to tackle real-world challenges. The experience culminates in Pitch Day, where teams present their innovative solutions to a panel of judges.

🏆 As one of the winning teams, Di-DAOR reflects on the unexpected challenges, fresh perspectives and lessons that shaped their experience. Beyond their winning pitch, they share how the experience encouraged them to rethink their approach, adapt and grow together as a team.

Our recent MSI Pitch Day brought together 7 teams to bring their business ideas to the classroom, pitching innovative solutions to real-world challenges and putting their thinking, creativity and teamwork into action.

From developing the idea to refining the pitch, the experience gave students the opportunity to step into the shoes of entrepreneurs, navigating questions, making decisions and turning concepts into compelling propositions.

And when the final pitch is delivered, the learning doesn’t stop there. It’s about taking those lessons forward and applying them to the next big idea.

We were pleased to welcome students from Waseda University to NUS Business School for a meaningful session of learning and exchange.

As part of their visit, the students attended a lecture by Professor Pasha, gaining fresh insights and a taste of the learning experience at NUS Business School. They also learnt more about our NUS Business School MSc programmes, our diverse student community and what student life in Singapore has to offer.

It was a pleasure having the Waseda University students with us and sharing a glimpse of the academic and student experience at NUS Business School.
