Checkmate! Last month, our Strategic Games Club (SGC) students stepped up to the board at the 77th National Schools Individual Chess Championships (NSI) 2026, organised by the Singapore Chess Federation. Across seven intense rounds over two days, they faced strong contenders from schools and organisations nationwide.

Their excellence, perseverance, and sportsmanship landed them multiple podium finishes, including a 2nd place and 3rd place, alongside strong top-4 performances in both the boys’ and girls’ U20 East Zone categories.

Beyond the results, what stood out was the perseverance, discipline, and sportsmanship our students brought to every match. Well done, Victorians!♟️✨
