CONGRATUATIONS to our two Engineering students who helped TEAM SINGAPORE to an excellent finish of 4 Silver, 4 Bronze, and 19 Medallions for Excellence, at the WorldSkills International Competition held in Shanghai (23--27 Sep 2026) -- the nation's best finish since 1995.

Thank you guys! for giving Singapore and Temasek Polytechnic a place on the global stage! 👏

Meet our two ethical hacking experts, Zin Hmue Paing and Chia Xiang Wei Denn.

Tasked to carry out cyberattacks on a device to steal vital information, the two final year Computer Engineering students extracted secret encryption keys by studying the physical signals given off by the device while it computes, like power usage and response time, which enabled them to break the code.

Their effort won them the 3rd Prize (Pre-University category) in NiCE Hack 2026, a cybersecurity hackathon organised by the National Integrated Centre for Evaluation (NiCE) at Nanyang Technological University, held on 27 Sep 2026.

CONGRATS! to our Aerospace students for clinching the Gold award in the annual 𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

They developed an Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) that is able to autonomously inspect an aircraft for physical defects, remove foreign objects & debris on runways, monitor hazardous gas and smoke, as well as conduct airfield surveillance and counter-drone operations – thereby reducing human exposure to operational hazards.

Organised by the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE) under the theme “Securing the Skies: Driving Technology and Safety Forward,” the competition was held on 11 Sep 2026.

A collaborative robot that is programmed and integrated with a dual-function gripper capable of gripping, snipping, harvesting and sorting fruits and herbs without human intervention, has won a group of Mechatronics students the Best Robotics Solution Award at the National Robotics Competition.

The annual competition, which aims to promote STEM learning and hands-on problem solving through building and programming autonomous robots, was organised by the Singapore Science Centre, and held on 1 Sep 2026.

Mission accomplished!
10 ITE students completed their 20-week internship in TP School of Engineering -- working on R&D projects at our Centres of Excellence and getting the hands-on experience that all employers look for!

They received their certificates of completion from the Director Paul Yap at a ceremony on 19 Aug 2026.

Given by the Singapore International Facility Management Association (SIFMA), the award recognises the IFM course for its excellence in facilities management education and training, based on its mode of delivery, curriculum design, alignment with industry needs and professional development objectives, as well as its unique attributes and the methodologies adopted to ensure that the curriculum remains current and responsive to evolving industry demands.

Mr Patrick Phang, Course Chair of IFM diploma, said: “We are indeed honoured to win this award — it is testimony to the strong relevance of our diploma curriculum to industry needs, as well as an affirmation of our commitment to nurturing future-ready FM professionals.”
