xciting days ahead for Engineering students in Temasek Polytechnic (TP)!

They can now look forward to using and learning in a brand new industry grade electric vehicle academy on campus -- jointly set up by TP and Volt Auto, exclusive distributor of Dongfeng passenger vehicles in Singapore & Malaysia.

The new facility, called the TP-Volt Auto EV Academy, will also provide upskilling and curated training in electric vehicle technology for Volt Auto’s partners, customers and the public, in alignment with Singapore’s Land Transportation Industry Transformation Map.

The MOU was signed by Mr Soh Ming, Founder & CEO of Volt Auto Pte Ltd, and Mr Paul Yap, Director of TP’s School of Engineering, on 31 Jul 2026.

HEARTIEST CONGRATULATIONS! ... to our diploma graduates who received the Singapore Industry Scholarship (SgIS) at a presentation ceremony held at SUTD on 28 July 2026, graced by Minister for Education, Desmond Lee.

The SgIS is offered by various industry companies to diploma graduates to pursue their university studies in Singapore or overseas.

CONGRATS! to final year Mechatronics student Hiew Lap Xin for clinching 2nd place (Metrology category) of the Precision Engineering Competition held recently.

Contestants were tested on their accuracy in dimensional measurements and analyses on machined parts, technical handling of handheld metrology tools, as well as their understanding of measurement principles and techniques for industrial and laboratory settings.

Did you know that behind every smooth landing and on-time departure of a commercial flight, is a team of engineers who work diligently behind the scenes?

That's what our Year 1 and Year 2 Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Electronics students found out when they went on a study trip to SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) on 8 July 2026 -- gaining valuable insights into aircraft inspection, maintenance, operations and safety practices.

Such study trips allow our students to see their learning come to life in real industry scenarios. Thanks to SIAEC for making this possible!

More than 200 students were recognised for their academic achievement at our annual 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 presentation ceremony on 17 Jul 2026.

The Director's List award for top 10% of academic achievers, the Most Improved Student award for those who have made great comeback strides, as well as the Maths Prize were presented by Director of the School of Engineering, Mr Paul Yap.

Congratulations to all recipients! Keep up the good work!

Temasek Engineering School student Sohana Khatun is giving everyday waste a new lease of life while inspiring others to embrace sustainability 🌱.

Her project, Wear Your Waste, was recognised at the National Environment Agency’s Youth for Environmental Sustainability (YES) Leaders Programme graduation ceremony. Through the project, participants learn to transform used coffee grounds and plastic bottle caps into jewellery 💍.

Working with community organisations, companies, green groups and schools, Sohana also conducts workshops for persons with disabilities and individuals with special needs. These sessions help participants develop practical skills while raising awareness of reuse and environmental sustainability 💜.

Launched in 2023, the YES Leaders Programme equips youths with the knowledge and skills to lead environmental sustainability projects in their schools and communities. This year’s showcase, held at Kallang Wave Mall from 10 to 12 July, featured sustainability initiatives by participating youths and gave members of the public the opportunity to discover ideas contributing to a greener and more inclusive future 🤝.

Standing room only! at 2 talks by visiting NTU professors -- part of the NTU Engineering Discovery series -- held at TP on 8 Jul 2026.

-- Prof. Daniel New, Associcate Professor, School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, NTU, shared about "Vortex Rings in Motion: A Flow Visualization Journey" with our AEG and MTN students.

-- Prof. Timothy Tan, Associate Professor, School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology, NTU, addressed our BME students on "From Genes to Healing: Next-Generation RNA Technology to Prevent Scars".
