Our students, Toh Yu Hui (Diploma in Information Technology) and Daniel Yong Zhen Xun (Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics), just represented NYP on a world stage — at Apsara Conference, one of China’s leading AI conferences, by invitation of Alibaba Cloud.

The duo showcased ArchAIve, an AI-powered project built on Alibaba’s Qwen large language model to support the digitalisation and preservation of Singapore’s cultural and heritage content — and delivered a 20-minute breakout presentation on how Qwen is helping make that heritage knowledge more accessible to all.

Beyond the presentation, what we saw was courage: young people backing their ideas in front of a global audience, and growing because of it.

NYP School of IT Students Shine at Dell InnovateFest 2026!

A huge congratulations to our 6 Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics (DAAA) students for clinching 1st Runner-Up in the Polytechnic Track at Dell InnovateFest 2026! 👏

Their innovative solution harnesses AI and cloud-native technologies to help Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) communicate more effectively and live more independently, demonstrating how technology can be used to create meaningful social impact and make a positive difference in people's lives.

The team also outperformed 9 other teams from Institutes of Higher Learning to win the Copilot Innovation Award!

🤝 On 2 September 2026, Nanyang Polytechnic and SPARK formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a partnership to design, develop and launch relevant training courses. Through this collaboration, SPARK will also lend its expertise to engage the tech community and bring industry into the classroom through industry-led use case ideation and talent development opportunities for students from NYP's School of Information Technology.

We're proud to strengthen our partnership with JAPFA, one of Asia's leading agri-food companies, and Snowflake to drive AI innovation and workforce development.

Through internships at JAPFA, our learners have applied their AI skills to solve real-world challenges, developing solutions such as an AI-powered CCTV monitoring system for farm biosecurity and a Snowflake CoWork smart assistant that generates operational insights for staff.

This partnership is now entering an exciting new phase. Together with JAPFA and Snowflake, NYP will co-develop a customised AI training programme to upskill JAPFA's workforce, extending the impact of applied AI from student learning to enterprise transformation.

Huge shoutout to our amazing students Felicia Tan and Charlisa Tan from Diploma in Information Technology, along with Vivion Oh from Diploma in Business & Financial Technology! They made it to the Top 5 Finalists in the SCDF and Dell Lifesavers' Innovation Challenge 2026! 🎉

They competed against 81 teams from 17 schools, including NUS, NTU, SMU, and SIT, and got to present their awesome idea to Minister of State, Mr. Goh Pei Ming! Way to go, team!
