An inspiring day at the SIT Management Workplan Retreat 💡

We kicked off with an engaging sharing session and tour by Mr Peh Wee Leng, Director, School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology (ITE College East), before breaking into working groups to chart out our strategic focus areas and next steps.

We can't wait to put these initiatives into action!

“NYP gave me more than just an education. The Professional Competency Model provided valuable opportunities for me to grow through a one-year internship at J.P. Morgan Chase, overseas exchange programme in South Korea, and various competitions. Hackathons, in particular, pushed me to learn quickly, work under pressure, and apply my skills to create real impact. Overall, my experience at NYP was not just about academics, but about growing through communities, opportunities, and real-world exposure.”

Sarah Zoe Sung .eee, Class of 2026, Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics, Snowflake Gold Medal Award for Outstanding Academic Performance, Daisy Phay-NYP Foundation Scholar, Former Vice-President of NYP Ladies-in-Tech Student Interest Group, admitted to NUS Computer Science

“I chose NYP via EAE because of its strong reputation in IT and its focus on practical, industry-relevant learning. Through working on real client projects, I learned to go beyond coding by managing timelines, communicating with stakeholders, and thinking like a product builder. These experiences shaped my growth and continue to influence my work as a lead developer, as well as during my internship at GovTech.”

Goh Hai Guan Benny , Year 3 student of Diploma in Information Technology*, NYP Scholar, Director's List for 3 semesters

“NYP's School of IT looks beyond grades to value passion and potential. The hands-on curriculum truly shaped how I think, build and solve problems. My internship at JAPFA allowed me to build production AI systems that directly support farmers across Southeast Asia. This experience showed me that NYP does not just teach theory, it prepares you to create global impact beyond Singapore."

Aiman Hakim Reza , Class of 2026, Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics, Winner of Overseas Sustainability Innovation Challenge 2024 Jakarta, Director's List for 4 semesters, admitted to NTU Computer Science

“I chose NYP as it gave me the opportunity to transition from a business background into IT, supported by my self-taught programming journey and passion for building products. The hands-on teaching approach in the School of IT strengthened my technical skills while allowing me to explore technopreneurship. Through projects like AirQueue, AM Digiparts, and Keypiece.ai, I gained valuable experience in product building, teamwork, and bringing ideas to real users.”

Teo Yu Xiang , Year 3 student of Diploma in Information Technology* , Co-Founder of AM Digiparts, Technopreneurship Pathway

“One of the highlights of my journey was a four-month exchange in Korea, where I experienced learning in a completely new environment. Opportunities to network and host events further broadened my understanding of the industry and enabled meaningful connections with professionals in the field. I leave NYP with valuable experiences that have prepared me well for my next chapter.”

Javerine Tan, Class of 2025, Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics, 1st runner up of AWS Build On Singapore Hackathon 2022, former President of Ladies in Tech Student Interest Group, current SMU Computer Science Student

“I chose NYP after being inspired by my experience engaging with student leaders at a cybersecurity event, as NYP Infosec stood out for its strong community and supportive culture. That connection grew through interactions with its members, and gave me the confidence that NYP was the right place for me. Serving as President of NYP Infosec also allowed me to give back by organising workshops and creating opportunities for others. I leave NYP with meaningful friendships, leadership growth, and experiences that have prepared me for the future.

Marcus Tan Yi Hao, Class of 2026, Diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics, Cyber Security Agency of Singapore Award for Outstanding Achievement, Former President of NYP Infosec, admitted to SMU Bachelor of Integrative Studies

Our students had the opportunity to visit EM Services. They gained valuable insights into the work that keeps Singapore’s Town Councils running smoothly behind the scenes.

As part of this collaboration, students will be working on real-world problem statements across areas such as resident feedback management, lift maintenance workflows, and digital transformation initiatives.

These industry-linked projects provide a platform for students to apply their technical and innovation skills in real-world settings, while strengthening capabilities in problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and solution development.

We appreciate the team at EM Services for hosting us and for partnering with us to develop the next generation of industry-ready tech talent.
