🏆 Huge congratulations to Team Hack Tuah who won first place at the National AI Student Challenge (NAISC)!

Held during the AI Student Developer Conference (AISDC) 2026, the five CCDS-member team took on the Singtel track to build an adaptive AI system that detects, visualises, and mitigates data drift to keep machine learning models accurate and reliable as data changes.

They built a pipeline that is able to make predictions 23.5% more accurate, all in under 30 seconds – plus an interactive dashboard to visualise it all. ⚡

This is the spirit CCDS strives to nurture: students rising to real-world challenges, pushing boundaries, and innovating their way to the top. 🚀

Our Turing AI scholars are currently in Beijing as part of their overseas immersion experience.

For Year 1 DSAI scholar Yang Mingchen, one detail at the Forbidden City stood out – the palace complex was designed not just for grandeur, but for resilience. Bronze water vats, open courtyards, and man-made waterways were carefully incorporated as fire prevention measures to protect the site across generations.

“Perhaps the greatest threats to what we treasure are not dramatic catastrophes, but overlooked dangers,” Mingchen reflected.

Beyond the classroom, experiences like these encourage TAISP scholars to think more deeply about systems, foresight, and what it takes to build things that last.

What does learning at CCDS actually look like?

Prospective students joined us at CCDS Connect on 9 May for an afternoon of conversations, discovery, and connection at Raffles City Convention Centre.

From student-led projects and demos to faculty discussions on learning in an AI-shaped world, the event offered students a closer look at the ideas, experiences and community that shape life at CCDS.

But some of the most meaningful moments happened beyond the formal programme – in the conversations between students, faculty, and alumni that continued long after the sessions ended.

A strong computing education goes beyond technical knowledge.

For CCDS student Linus Loh, involvement in the NTU Students’ Computing and Data Science Club became an opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork, and the ability to navigate challenges alongside others.

From organising large-scale events to mentoring younger students, these experiences helped translate classroom learning into real-world confidence, communication, and leadership under pressure.

At CCDS, growth happens both inside and outside the classroom.
