What a week for the HybridNeuro community! 🎉

From January 13th to 17th, 2025, we wrapped up an incredible series of activities, including:

- GA Meeting for the HybridNeuro project.
- Workshop with HoT focusing on ( ).
- Training session on best practices, tips, and tricks for efficient project management for coordinators of European projects, led by the Chalmers Grant Office.
- Presentation by the Chalmers Innovation Office, showcasing their implementation of IPR and tech transfer activities in collaboration with Chalmers Industriteknik, aimed at bridging the gap between lab research and real-world applications (academia-industry collaboration).
- Introduction to the , a long-term project component that will continue beyond the project's official conclusion—stay tuned for more details!

Day 2 of Our Workshop

Day 2 of the workshop provided an opportunity to enhance our understanding of high-density electromyography ( ) through expert lectures and practical training, led by the team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor.

Key Scientific Contributions of the Day:

Prof. Aleš Holobar presented a comprehensive lecture on HD-EMG Decomposition, emphasizing advanced methodologies and their implications for motor control research.

Nina Murks, a young researcher, shared valuable insights into Motor Unit Pulse Train Extraction during Isometric Contractions.

Dr. Martin Šavc expanded the scope with a detailed discussion on Motor Unit Pulse Train Analysis in Dynamic Contractions, bridging static and dynamic movement conditions.

The afternoon featured a hands-on session focused on HD-EMG Decomposition, equipping participants with practical skills to analyze neuromuscular signals.

This day highlighted the latest advances in HD-EMG research and fostered meaningful collaboration within the scientific community.

Day 1: Workshop at the Invasive Interfaces Workshop ( )

We wish to thank Dr. Hamid Reza Marateb from the University of Isfahan and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya for giving us a talk titled "Template Matching Decomposition". The talk focused on EMG signal decomposition, eliminating the noise from the recorded signals, creating clusters of data, and using the threshold and different methods to compare signals.

To Dr. Mehdi Shirzadi from the Chalmers University of Technology who gave a presentation about "EMG Signal Simulation" and the need to simulate signals to test algorithm models as a reference before analysing patients’ data.

During the afternoon, Dr. Mehdi Shirzadi and Dr. Silvia Mucelli from the Chalmers University of Technology led the hands-on training session, where participants had a practical test with EMG signal simulations and training on template matching decomposition.

🧠 Exciting news from HybridNeuro!

On September 26th, 2024, our young researchers, Nina Murks and Leon Kutoš from the University of Maribor, Slovenia, made impactful contributions to the International Electrotechnical and Computer Science ERK 2024 Conference.

Leon presented groundbreaking research on improving the accuracy of motor unit analysis with hdEMG, while Nina shared her findings on how operator experience affects motor unit editing time.
