Assoc. Prof. Tine Kovačič, PhD, attended the General Meeting of the Europe Region of World Physiotherapy in Priština, where key discussions focused on the future of our profession, education, research, professional development, and patient safety.

“I am particularly proud of the work of the Education & Research Working Group, where I had the privilege of serving as co-lead. Together, we contributed to the development of important documents adopted at the General Meeting—documents that address not only education, research, and innovation, but also the future direction of our profession as a whole,” says Dr. Kovačič.

Our students at the heart of European taekwondo!
These days, they are taking care of elite athletes at the AETF European Taekwondo Championship.

In Maribor, physiotherapy students from University Alma Mater Europaea are actively involved in the preparation, recovery, and overall well-being of top competitors from across Europe.
They also provided professional individual physiotherapy treatment and massage for the current world champion, Tyra Barada, supporting her preparation at the highest level.

Participants of the BIP Erasmus+ programme from Lithuania, Italy, Bulgaria, Poland, and Croatia are joining us this week in Maribor.

Renowned Italian physiotherapist Prof. Dr. Vincenzo G. Ferrara delivered a masterclass in Maribor on the topic of ultrasound therapy in sports injuries.
Within his Futura Sport Clinic, Dr. Ferrara works with elite athletes, including Olympic triathletes and marathon runners. For the first time in Slovenia, our students had the opportunity to attend his lecture, which was followed by a hands‑on practical session.
We are delighted by the excellent turnout and the enthusiasm of our students, who understand the importance of gaining practical knowledge before entering the job market.
