The AfricaโAustralia Universities Network (AAUN) Australia Forum 2026 officially opened today at Edith Cowan University (ECU) City Campus in Perth, Western Australia, bringing together university leaders, academics, researchers, and partners from Africa and Australia.
Amoud University is represented at the Forum by a delegation led by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Muse Jibril, President of Amoud University, accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Heban Awale, Director of International Partnerships and Projects.
The Forum provides a platform for strengthening AustraliaโAfrica cooperation in higher education, research, innovation, knowledge exchange, and institutional partnerships. The opening programme brought together senior university leaders, government representatives, diplomats, and other stakeholders from Australia and Africa.
A key highlight of the programme is the AAUN Early Career Researchers (ECR) Hackathon, chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Muse Jibril, President of Amoud University. The session brings together nine competing teams representing universities from across Australia and Africa.
Amoud Universityโs participation reflects its commitment to expanding international academic partnerships, advancing collaborative research and innovation, promoting knowledge exchange, and strengthening institutional capacity.
Throughout the Forum, the Amoud University delegation is engaging with university leaders and other stakeholders to explore opportunities for meaningful and sustainable collaboration between Amoud University and institutions across Australia and Africa.
