Following more than two decades devastating war in Somalia, education facilities and institutions from elementary schools to university were completely or partially destroyed. This led to an acute skill shortage in the country, thus hampering recovery and jeopardizing long-term development, particularly in Somalia where there is peace, and stability. It is against this background that the Universi

ty of KMU was conceived and subsequently inaugurated in September 2016. The University of KMU brings together the most promising students who value and seek knowledge to acquire a profession, lead principled lives, and assume leading roles in solving major problems of society.
