The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at Somali National University (SNU) was officially launched in 1985 but unfortunately disappeared by the collapse of the Somali state in 1991. It has been re-establish

ed in 2020 to specifically address the needs of the present and prospective research goals and to support the graduate population. This is due to an increasing interest of the SNU in providing significant research output and strengthening research impacts in the community, as well as supporting current and prospective graduate students for designated services.

The training equipped students with practical skills in qualitative research design, data collection, data analysis, interpretation, and the application of qualitative methods in health research.
