Faculty of Economics The Faculty of Economics (FECO) aims to prepare national and international experts as well as professionals in Economics, Planning and Statistics.

To meet development requirements of the nation, especially after a long time of economic decline, the Faculty of Economics (FECO) has been created. The Faculty aims to prepare national and international experts as well as professionals in Economics, Planning and Statistics. FECO specializes in providing studies in Economics, Planning and Statistics which are relevant and purposeful in meeting the current and future needs of the region. The programs are designed to provide real world practical learning experiences that incorporate both hard and soft skills as well as to be intellectually challenging with well-grounded theories on Business and Economics. . Sabirin Abdirahman Hussein, a soon-to-be graduate of the Faculty of Economics at SIMAD University, discusses her research study recently presented at the 11th Conference on Economics and Public Policy Development (CEPAD2026).

Her study, titled โ€œDomestic Revenue Mobilization and Its Effect on Economic Growth in Somalia,โ€ examines the relationship between domestic revenue mobilization and economic growth in Somalia, highlighting the importance of strengthening domestic revenue systems for sustainable economic development.

The research reflects the commitment of students in the Faculty of Economics to engaging in evidence-based research and exploring critical economic and policy issues relevant to Somaliaโ€™s development.
