An al-Qaeda terrorist who plotted to bomb Bluewater shopping centre went before the Parole Board this week in a fresh bid for freedom.

Salahuddin Amin was part of a five-strong al-Qaeda cell jailed for life in 2007 for planning a wave of UK bombings using chemical fertiliser devices.

Amin was given a minimum term of 17 and a half years and was last refused parole in 2024, when the board ruled he may still pose a danger to the public. He was also refused a transfer to an open prison at that time.

He previously alleged his confession to being a Taliban sympathiser was forced.

Three of his fellow conspirators have already been released, with one deported to Pakistan.

Police arrested over 70 people, including several Muslims, outside Westminster Magistrates Court today for expressing their support for the banned group Palestine Action.

Over 3,000 people, many of them elderly, have been arrested since the group was banned in July 2025.

The government says Palestine Action is a terrorist organisation because of its repeated involvement in criminal damage and its threat to national security.

But supporters say it is simply focused on disrupting the Israeli war machine which is committing genocide, and the government has abused anti terror laws.

Donald Trump has told GB News that Andy Burnham must address the migrant crisis that is “killing your country”.

Speaking to the US leader in the Oval Office, Bev Turner raised concern that the new Prime Minister was avoiding the topic of immigration in his first weeks in office.

“He’s going to have to mention it because it’s killing your country,” President Trump began.

“I know (Sir Keir) Starmer did very little about it, and they’re coming from all over the world. They’re coming from Africa. They’re coming from South America. They’re coming from different parts of Asia.

“They’re invading Europe,” he warned, adding: “It’s an invasion, and the UK is a prime suspect.
