According to the motto of "Live Locally, Grow Globally", Osaka University has been encouraging itself to be a world-class university by advocating for a liberal arts education at our graduate schools as well as actively contributing to society through university-industry and university-community cooperation. To accomplish this goal, Osaka University has promoted accepting international students, s

etting study abroad programs for Osaka University students, developing new degree programs and new students exchange programs, as well as encouraging research collaboration with researchers abroad by setting up the International Affairs Board. Furthermore, overseas centers for education and research were established in San Francisco (USA), Groningen (The Netherlands), Bangkok (Thailand) and Shanghai (China) as bases to aggressively support international exchange overseas and communicate research results achieved by Osaka University.
