A Pilgrimage of Mindfulness: Building Bridges of Peace in an Uncertain World

Venerable Phramaha Weerasak Abhinandavedi, Ph.D. (Director of the Ph.D. Program in Innovative Mindfulness and Peace Studies – IPMS), and Venerable Dr. Neminda, lecturers from the International Buddhist Studies College (IBSC), have been invited to participate in the international program
“Meditation, Dialogue, and Practices of Peace in Uncertain Times,”
held from April 16–21, 2026 in Padua and Camposampiero, Italy.

This journey is more than an academic engagement—it is a pilgrimage of mindfulness. It brings the living wisdom of Buddhism into dialogue with Christianity and with seekers from diverse cultures, creating a shared space for reflection, understanding, and peace.

International Buddhist Studies College Personnel Join Songkran Water-Pouring Ceremony to Seek Blessings from the Director, 2026

Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 04.00 PM

Personnel of the International Buddhist Studies College participated in the traditional water-pouring ceremony to pay respect and seek blessings from the Director on the occasion of the Songkran Festival 2026, aiming to bring auspiciousness and to preserve Thailand’s rich cultural heritage. The College organized a Buddha bathing ritual along with the water-pouring ceremony to receive blessings from Phrakhrusamu Vachiravich Thitavangso, Dr., Director of the International Buddhist Studies College. The event was attended by administrators, faculty members, and staff in unity, fostering morale and spiritual encouragement in their professional duties. This activity also served to promote and preserve the valuable Thai traditions associated with the Songkran Festival for future generations.

The ceremony was held at the Somdet Phra Buddhaghosacariya Building, International Buddhist Studies College, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

International Buddhist Studies College Holds Monthly Staff Meeting, Reviews Operations and Issues Policy Guidance Amid Middle East Situation

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1:30 PM,

Phrakhrusamu Vachiravich Thitavangso, Dr., Director of International Buddhist Studies College, presided over the monthly staff meeting. The meeting was attended by administrators, faculty members, and staff at the Buddhapanya Meeting Room, International Buddhist Studies College, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University.
The meeting aimed to monitor and follow up on the college’s operations to ensure alignment with planned objectives. It also provided policy direction and operational guidelines in response to the ongoing unrest in the Middle East. In accordance with the university’s official announcements and directives, personnel are required to work from home (WFH).
On this occasion, the administration emphasized the importance of adaptability, effective internal communication, and proactive work approaches to ensure the college’s operations remain efficient amid rapidly changing circumstances.

The International Buddhist Studies College (IBSC) led by Phrakhrusamu Vachiravich Thitavangso, Dr. Director of IBSC, together with administrators, faculty members, and staff, participated in a session of Buddhist chanting and meditation practice before the commencement of their daily duties.

On this occasion, Most Ven. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phra Thepvajarasarabundit, Vice Rector for Planning and Development, presided over the ceremony on behalf of Most Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmawatcharatheeracharn, the Rector.

The ceremony took place at the Vipassana Dhura Building, Somdet Phra Buddhajarn (Aj Asabhamahathera), Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Lam Sai Subdistrict, Wang Noi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
