“The AI Detox: Force the Brain to Exercise”
By Assoc. Prof.Voraprapa Nakavachara, Ph.D.
Faculty of Economics, Chulalongkorn University
Economics Column Chulalongkorn University Perspective, Economic Base Newspaper Issue 4228

🔵 KEY POINTS
🔹 Over-reliance on AI can deprive the brain of opportunities to practice analytical thinking and reduce the use of critical thinking.
🔹 The concept of “AI Detox” involves deliberately setting aside time to stop using AI temporarily, such as for one or two days, in order to encourage the brain to work and exercise on its own.
🔹 Activities during an AI Detox focus on exercising different cognitive skills, such as problem-solving, reasoning, memory, and playing strategy-based games, without relying on AI.

📢 Public Lecture | Economics of Anti-Corruption Course
🌍 "Corruption and Sustainable Development"
Corruption isn't just about bribes and kickbacks — it's a barrier standing in the way of a sustainable future for the entire planet.
Join Professor Robert Gillanders, Professor of Economics at Dublin City University Business School and researcher at the DCU Anti-Corruption Research Centre, one of the world's leading scholars on the economics of corruption.
Explore the evidence showing how corruption undermines progress on nearly every SDG:
💸 Why are corrupt countries poorer? Is corruption "sand in the wheels" of the economy — or "grease"?
🏗️ When bribes make buildings collapse — 83% of deaths from building collapses occur in anomalously corrupt countries
🏥 Corruption and access to clean water, healthcare, and education — and why the poor pay the highest price
🌡️ How corruption weakens climate policy and holds back green innovation
⚖️ Sexual corruption — the hidden risks facing women and vulnerable groups that too often go unspoken
Fighting corruption isn't just a job for lawyers — it's a challenge for everyone who wants a more sustainable world. 🌱
📅 13 August 2026
🕐 16:00 – 18:00 (Bangkok time)
💻 Zoom Meeting

🗣️ Conducted in English, free of charge, no registration required

Economics of Anti-Corruption
Zoom Meeting

🌍 "Corruption and Sustainable Development"

⚖️ Sexual corruption —
