On April 28, 2026, Thammasat Business School (TBS), led by Dr. Vasu Thirasak, had the pleasure of welcoming Prof. Roy Chua, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources at the Singapore Management University Lee Kong Chian School of Business.

During his visit, Prof. Chua delivered a lecture titled “AI Models as Cultural Beings: Investigating AI Cultural Biases and the Impact of Cultural Alignment on Human–AI Creative Collaboration” to TBS faculty members and students. The session provided valuable insights into the intersection of culture and artificial intelligence, particularly in shaping human–AI collaboration.

The lecture also strongly aligns with TBS’s strategic direction of “Empowering AI”, which aims to equip students and faculty with the knowledge and critical perspectives needed to navigate an AI-driven world. In particular, the discussion on cultural intelligence and AI bias highlights the importance of developing responsible, context-aware AI applications—an essential component of future business leadership.

In addition, TBS and SMU engaged in productive discussions on potential areas of academic collaboration. Notably, SMU Business School has generously offered fully funded scholarships for TBS students who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. program at SMU. Further details will be shared in due course.
