🏆 Chulalongkorn University Education Students Win 1st Runner-Up at ITEA 2026

On 12 May 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Yotsawee Saifah, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, congratulated a team of undergraduate students for winning the 1st Runner-Up Award at the 2nd International Teaching Excellence Award (ITEA 2026) under the theme:

✨ “Shaping Minds for a Carbon-Neutral Future”

The competition, held at Royal Phuket City Hotel in Phuket, featured outstanding teaching innovations from universities across ASEAN.

Today we had our TEFL Roundtable 🎉

The event featured three inspiring speakers — Chanukrit Thienkalaya, Azade Amirzadi, and Mengxin (Rebecca) Zeng — who shared their personal experiences and TEFL journeys. Through their stories, they reflected on their learning paths, challenges, and achievements, leaving valuable encouragement and inspiration for everyone who attended.

The event also included a poster presentation session where we had the chance to present our ideas and engage with one another through meaningful discussions and feedback.

Thank you so much to our speakers, students, and everyone who contributed to making this event meaningful and memorable. We look forward to more opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together 🌟

🤖📚 TEFL Chula would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Sun-Young Shin from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, for delivering an inspiring and insightful workshop, “Integrating Generative AI into Language Assessment: Opportunities, Challenges, and Principles for Responsible Use.” 🙏

The workshop offered valuable perspectives on how generative AI can support language assessment and writing practices while highlighting the importance of responsible and ethical use in education.

💫 It was especially wonderful to see our current students and alumni come together again. Everyone’s active participation and thoughtful discussions truly made the session engaging and meaningful.

💗 Moments like these remind us that TEFL Chula is not only a place for learning, but also a supportive community where we reconnect, exchange ideas, and continue growing together.

🤖✨ Thank You for an Inspiring AI Event for TEFL Chula Students ✨🤖

TEFL Chula, in collaboration with English as an International Language, would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Lucas Kohnke, Senior Lecturer from the Department of English Language Education, EDUHK, for delivering an inspiring and insightful workshop, “Teaching Smarter with AI: Microlearning, AI Literacy, and Academic Publishing.”

Throughout the day, our TEFL Chula students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of AI tools for education, develop AI literacy and competencies, and discuss practical ways to integrate AI into English Language Teaching (ELT). The session also provided valuable guidance on academic publishing, helping students better understand how to transform research and ideas into publishable work.
It was an engaging and hands-on learning experience that encouraged participants to think critically about the responsible and effective use of AI in teaching, learning, and academic research.

We are truly grateful to Dr. Kohnke for sharing his expertise and inspiring our students to teach, learn, and research more creatively with AI 🙏🏻

In light of the recent unrest in the Middle East, which may cause concern among members of the Chulalongkorn community—particularly international students and staff whose home countries are directly affected and who are currently studying and working at the University—Chulalongkorn University would like to express our sincere concern regarding the situation. We also extend our heartfelt support and encouragement to all who may be affected, directly or indirectly.
Chulalongkorn University reaffirms its strong commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students and staff without discrimination based on race, nationality, religion, or any other differences. We remain dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and welcoming learning environment for everyone.
