🇯🇵 EIL Chula's Academic Excursion to the University of Tokyo! 🇹🇭

The English as an International Language (EIL) Program, Chulalongkorn University, successfully organized an academic excursion and joint workshop for its master's and doctoral students at the University of Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan.

The excursion group from Chula was led by Assistant Prof. Dr. Sujinat Jitwiriyanont (Director of EIL Program) and Assistant Prof. Dr. Pavadee Saisuwan (EIL Program Faculty Member). The academic event began with an official welcome at the University of Tokyo (Komaba Campus), followed by a talk and workshop by Professor Dr. Edson Miyamoto on “The influence of Chinese, Japanese and Thai when learning English as a second language.”

The joint academic workshop served as a vital platform for research exchange. Our EIL students delivered four presentations: Xinyi Zhang, Methira Phatinuwat, Anupong Thuynyak, and Sixin Qin. Additionally, four presentations were delivered by students from the University of Tokyo.

This collaboration successfully facilitated fruitful discussions and a dynamic exchange of research insights and pedagogical perspectives between faculty and students of both programs, including Professor Dr. Yuki Hirose and Professor Dr. Edson Miyamoto.

This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening the international academic ties of the EIL program, fostering a global perspective for our students, and promoting research in the field of EIL.
