Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital Hosts "Promoting Confident and Anxiety-Free English Communication Workshop"
The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University successfully conducted an innovative English communication workshop on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 12:00-1:30 PM at the Navamindrapobitr 84th Anniversary Building, 26th Floor.
The workshop brought together medical professionals and students to address common language barriers and build confidence in English communication. Prof. Scott Nelson, International Advisor for SiGMA Program, served as the featured presenter, delivering insights on "How to build a relaxed conversation for encouraging participants' confidence."
Assoc. Prof. Suree Sompradeekul from the Department of Medicine expertly facilitated the session as emcee, leading interactive participant interviews where attendees shared their perspectives and experiences - both from those who have traveled abroad for international electives or presentations and those who haven't had such opportunities yet.
Key participants included Assoc. Prof. Pornpan Koomanachai, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication & International Relations, who contributed to the collaborative learning environment.
The 90-minute program featured a well-structured agenda including opening remarks about the workshop's origins and the importance of English language encouragement, followed by the interactive interview session, Prof. Nelson's presentation, and concluding with an engaging discussion and Q&A session.
This initiative demonstrates Siriraj's commitment to preparing its medical community for global collaboration and international academic opportunities, creating a supportive environment where healthcare professionals can overcome language anxiety and develop confident communication skills.
